Day 42 0f Flowe, Starting to look ready, How to tell for sure?

Well here are the girls after 42 days of flower. Bag seed cfl closet grow. Each plant seems to be diff strain. My question is how to tell when they are ready to harvest? On one plant the lower buds at the end of stalk seem ready, but further down the stem mostly still white hairs, and the colas don't look done. Will the whole plant be ready at once?
Any advice would be welcom. This is my first grow.

How are the trichs looking?

Forgive my ignorence but are the trichs the hairs that go from white to red? If so the top buds are more white then red, some of the side buds look much redder, but further down the branch still prety white, you can see this in some of the pics. Am I talking about the right thing or are the trichs something else I should be looking at?

The trichs are basically the crystals. You can use a 30x zoom mag from radio shack and you can see them up close. They go from clear to clody to amber. The more amber the better IMO but it depends on the type of smoke you want. The more amber the more couchlock. Hope this helps.

ohh so the red & white hairs I am talking about are not really relevant. I need to get a magnifier at least 30x to see the crystals that are on the hairs?

Hey man pick those bad girls right now those trichs look over done. you want to see a lil red in the hairs but yours are almost brown. PICK EM.

still looks like white hairs some buds do look done though. The hairs do matter to a point when they get brown and start rescinding in ur at the end. But I would get a mag and go by the trichs. But you can harvest some buds and leave the others to finish. Good Luck

Thanks, I'm gonna get a loop to check trics, now that i was told how. I may have over grown. I am gonna try to flush at least twice(4 days)
if I can get away with it as I have been fertilizing.
