So far, i've exhausted all "Germination" methods. The towel method, the leave in water for 24 hours, then put in towel. and the more than successful plant the ungerm'd seed into soil, water, and watch.
I must say, i've had success with all methods.. There is a certain madness to it though..
For the "Towel" method;
-Grab your seeds, throw them on a folded (3-4 times) paper towel. Saturate the shit out of the paper towel, and put the towel filled with seeds in a ziplock-bag (or a small Tupperware container) and put just a fraction of water in it. Just enough to keep it from dehydrating. I've found out wit this method, is that you NEED sterile fingers, and work environment to germ successfully. If not your seeds may turn to a weird 'goo' and thus be unable to grow. When you have your seeds-wrapped in paper towel, and properly watered.. STORE in a somewhat cool DARK place. Like inside a dark closet, or in your dresser drawer. Leave them in there for about 3-4 days, and you WILL have successfully germinated your seeds.
Thats my favorite way of germinating my seeds. Hope this helps ya.
Ok here it is one more time but with pictures I started an Acapulco Gold and Sharksbreath from Attitude exactly 5 days ago. This puts me at 9 for 9 using this method
Things I use:
- PureBlend Pro "Vegetative formula" I used half the required strength for seedlings
- Tap water balanced to 6.0 (I used regular tap water on 2 freebie seeds and it worked also)
Step #1: Get a pot/cup
Step #2: Grab some Foxfarm Ocean Forest and fill it to desired height
Step #3: Water the soil and let it drain
Step #4: Label your cubs
Step #5: Poke hole in the middle of the soil about nail length
Step #6: Drop in seed (make sure to drop it in the correctly labeled cup/pot)
Step #7: Using a spray bottle spray the seed
Step #7: Lightly cover with FFOF
Step #8: Using a spray bottle spray over the soil until the water starts to seep in, I keep spraying it until I think it's reached the seed
Step #9: Put a dome over it for humidity
Step #10: Put it in your veg, seedling area
Step #11: Smoke and wait

Thanks for that baja! I was going to go into detail like you have, along the same lines. But you took the pictures and words right outta my mouth! Thanks for the mini-tutorial on how to correctly plant a seed bro!

Baja! Great news man. Well, I tried my own methond very similar to yours. I took a bowl (like a cereal bowl) put a wet paper towel at the bottom, soaked some FFOF, put that ontop, put the seed in the soil and barely covered it, put it on my kitchen window-sill and sure enough, 3 days later it's sproutin its little head. I just put it outside actually I'll let you know if it survives in the cup I just put it in. Thanks so much for your help baha +rep
Ocean Forest has pre-charged nutrients and will burn the roots off of new seedlings. Look for a mix that says it is for seedlings. Also be careful with the watering and keep it moist but not soaked. Your planting depth should be fine. Yes, you have to be careful and not break the radical (root tip) off when handling the sprouted seed. Don't use pre charged soil media for seed germination or transplanting newly rooted clones. Just because a soil mix has a big following it does not mean it is for every use. Any well drained soil mix with good aeration and cation exchange capacity (ability to transfer nutrients from media to roots) will grow good plants>

Then please explain my 100% success rate so far (9 for 9) using water and FFOF. I have a veg tent full of different strains from Attitude all started directly in FFOF and thriving. I spent nearly $300 in seeds (total of 18 ) and there is no way I would keep using this method if I thought your statement was true, I'd be wasting money.

That's great man, trial and error...once you find a method that works, stick to it and perfect it. Good luck
