Hello good ppl of RIU.
So, right know im vegging with 4 26 watter 2700 k and 2 14 watter 2700 k lights-Yeah, i know i need 6500 k lights, but where i live theres non to have, really-maximum wattages are 26 watt and all in the stores have only 2700ks-THAT FUCKING SUCKS!!!

Anyway, my question is, which are better the tube (not any t5 s or any long tubes, just the regular house hold bulbs) or the spiral ones???
My logic says that the tube ones are better if the are used properly and placed right. What do U guys and girls think??!!

I think the spirals are better because they are easiy to place where you need them. If you can't find 6500k locally mail order them!

yeah, but if u have longer tubes, rather than spiral ones then you can more evenly distribute light in my opinion.

my local walmart just started stocking 6500k cfl's, didn't use to have them
home depot has a 26w 5500k cfl that i found was excellent for vegging

Neither. If you insist on using fluorescents though there are things to keep in mind. The tubes are going to be more expensive to initially purchase and they are space consuming but they distribute light very evenly. You can fit way more CFLs in the same amount of space and they are cheaper but you will have to do some "rigging" to place them. Heat will be more of an issue as well since you are placing many in a small area and each can be hot to the touch. T5HO fluorescent tubes may be what you're looking for now that i think about it since 1 is as powerful as 2 T12 2 foot tubes. The T5HOs get hot like the CFLs but they pack a punch in a small confined space while distributing light evenly. They are easily found with ballasts and optional reflectors as well.

Also, you can mix up the color spectrum between red and blue because using both is closer to the natural color spectrum than using one or the other. You can easily veg in a pure high blue but feel free to mix it up in flower.
