Awesomo's 196 watt CFL Rubbermaid Grow 12/12 from seed

OK so this grow I started about 25 days ago (1st of Jan.) but I planted the seeds over a span of about a week so the sizes vary. I planted 1 bagseed first on the 1st. Also, I had a World of Seeds Afghan Kush seed and 2 G-13 power skunk soaking in water. On the 3rd of Jan. the afghan kush and power skunk both sprouted. On the 5th of January a 3rd round of power skunk sprouted. I have a few other bag seeds soaking but I dont really want to talk about them.

The rubbermaid bin is tucked in my closet and the lining is made of tinfoil. My growing medium consists of 33% of Perlite, Vermiculite, and Miracle Grow Organic potting soil. My fertilizers are both some odd brand I found at Home Depot. One is a high nitrogen formula it is 20-14-13. The bloom formula is 11-35-15. They are orchid fertilizers but thats the best I could find at the time.

So far things have gone well with no real setbacks. I've been watering about once every 3 days and I've slowly upped the concentration of fertilizers.

looks good for age, should see sex 3-4 weeks, i do all mine 12-12 now, check my photo albums, all done enviro.

They look good. I'm thinkin about trying a 12/12 from seed so keep us updated on how your grow goes.

The plant looks good, but I don't know how much that aluminum foil is helping you. This entry in the FAQ section says it should be only used as a last resort.

Aluminum foil might also cause heat problems. Painting the inside of the box flat white might be more effective, even though it takes a little work.

Yeah I dont really expect to get much its just bud has gotten so expensive here its up to like $100-$120 for a quarter of decent stuff. I figure as long as I get maybe 1/2 ounce a plant I'll save a shit ton of cash and have some quality bud to enjoy. Once I get a bigger grow room I'm gonna really expand and push my production up but until then I just have deal with the limited space

so what up with thee 12/12 from seed. i know the plant will go and veg but why 12/12 from seed why not 18/6 then 12/12 is there some better in 12/12 form seed.

Yeah I've searched to see if I could find a good answer but haven't really come up with anything. My guess is that something hormonal happens and the plant rushes growth to have a decent amount of seeds. I have no evidence to support my claim but that is what I think the plant does.

I hope you're talking from experience, because that was not the timeframe that my plants exhibited under constant 12/12 from seed.

It was always at the minimum 3 weeks to show sex plus the 8-10 weeks of flowering, add another 1-2 weeks if you're using CFLs.

From my experience 12/12 from seed (Nirvana PPP) will take at a minimum 13-14 weeks. So basically you're only gaining a week or two's time.

You'll get bigger, higher-yielding plants if you start them under 18/6 for at least the first 3 weeks from seed.

yep im talking from experience, use 600watt of enviro in a 33x18x28 grow space 12-12 from day 1, thc bomb.

Hey i like that setup, can I see more pics of inside and how its made temps fans etc... I am looking for something in my closet and that may work for me!!! if u dont mind

Awesome then! I had 5 different strains going and they all took about 13-14 weeks from seed to finish. I was using 1300w comparable, something like 325w actual in about the same space (42x21x60) with lights right down on em.

I used this guys setup to make mine I just tweaked it a bit to fit the materials I had.

Also the key thing is to find a fan that will fit flush to the top of the container so you can get some good air movement (I put some duct tape around the bottom so it has a vacuum effect sorta). Also, dont use screws or tape to attach your fixture go with these.

P.S. I'll get you some pics of my fixture if you need them I'm just really lazy

P.P.S. Tinfoil was my last resort and only viable option. I live in an apartment so I don't really have anywhere to paint and the Wal-Mart near me doesn't sell the emergency blankets. But to be completely honest tin foil has WAY exceeded my expectations. I'll admit it is a little warm in there at about 80-85 degrees but thats mainly because my closet is so small and I have to keep the door shut (nosey roomies that dont smoke) so all that hot air is just sittin around.
