It should be aloud but smell could cause a serious problem. If I was said person I would have a nice sealed greenhouse with a big exhaust fan and carbon filter, it's expensive but not dealing with kids trying steal it and authority's catching wind of it is well worth it and you can make your money back fairly fast

No problems with smell. I'd imagine the wind will blow the smell away along with the fact they are located right near a pig ranch. Its a small elementary school and nobody would have a clue where the smell is coming from if worst comes to worst.

You can smell an outdoor grow from a quarter mile our more, on a day where the wind is right. My neighbor got checked out for complaints of the smell, and it was about half a mile from the area it was reported in. The cops just checked his paperwork, but they don't care in my town. So be warned, that shit is strong. He was growing trees though, so your mileage from this will vary.

The "Drug Free School Zones" were designed as penalty enhancements. As long as you are not violating state law, state law penalty enhancements dont apply. Step one toe out of line though, and "ZERO TOLERANCE" will put you in the slammer quicker than shit.

I would talk to the local sheriff and get his opinion (on tape) before i did anything inside 500 yards of a school. Also, if you have legal guns or a forgotten bottle of grandma's pain medication kickin around in your couch cushions from her visit last christmas, and they decide to be dicks you could be facing serious trouble, and even real buttslammin prison time.

do yourself a favour and get an opinion from the local sherrif, and get it on tape (secretly), and in writing if he is willing to do that

Don't talk to a cop but assume everything he said is true and take all the right precautions with staying legal

Check local county law enforcement protocols and abide by them, coming to a dope forum and asking people you don't know isn't the best idea.
Call the court house in your county and ask over the phone and be honest,(don't stretch 300 feet to 1000 feet).
Stay within what they say and you'll be OK.
