Organic Spider Mite killer

Well, spider mites are my worst hated enemy. They beat me every time. I spray them with pyrethrin, bomb them, hang no-pest strips over them, squash them, vacuum them... and they just laugh at me.

I was in Lowes the other day and I picked up something called "EcoSmart Organic Insecticide". It comes in a spray bottle for like $5. It is made from rosemary oil, peppermint oil, thyme oil, and clove oil. I sprayed the little bastards with it and they all died. I mean, I am sure I am not done yet- but this stuff killed them. I got some spotting on fan leaves from it, but plants look great. And no mites.

I also believe that you do have to switch up your chemicals because they will become immune. So maybe it's just because this was a new substance that it worked. I also grabbed some Neem oil spray to use next.

use every three days for 2 weeks. Alternate what you use, preferrably with 3-4 different products. Organic of course. If you dont use chemicals properly, they become immune

Nice! Keep us updated on how the fight goes. I'm always on the lookout for new stuff. They laugh at me too. I just bought a bunch of oils and extracts to make my own spray but it sounds like most of it is included in the ecosmart you got. I just got something from home depot called Organocide and it seems to have worked well on the test section I blasted earlier. It's made from sesame oil and fish oil. I think it suffocates the mites so I don't even know if they can build a resistance to it. Is that how it works? I'm not sure.

You also might want to google "Spider Mite Destroyers Stethorus punctipes" if all else fails. These little guys sound like the navy seals and delta force of mite predators. They're pricey though.
