Question about spider mite predators - Corn Cob Grit?

I ordered some "Triple Threat" predator mites from naturescontrol and they came in a vial full of "corn cob grit". One of my plants was under heavy assault from the spider mites, especially around the tops, so I sprinkled the stuff all over the tops, but now I'm thinking it was a stupid idea and I'm wondering if the corn cob grit will make my bud smoke funny (if I don't get it out of the buds).

Anyone ever used these?
