Red face Fekin Fungus Gnats
Hello there, newb here
A friend of mine who has been growing for a while explaine d a way for me to get my ph about right, he said that if you mix rainwater which is acidic with tap water 50/50 which around here is very alkaline i would get my ph about right. I did as he had explained but my rainwater was from a water butt which was infected and i now have fungus gnats and lavae , i noticed some advice from a site, link: http://www.gardenbanter.co.uk/showthread.php?t=150971 ( Fourth post down by Val ) which explained that using ground cinnamon in the soil gets rid of them, this was used on orchids mind and not weed. Would anyone have any info on this and know if it would damage weed or give it a strange taste being such a strong scented/tasting spice. Thanks for your time

Thanks mate, i did read about this on the forum and will try this and reduce watering, does the sand also stop the Fungus Gnat lavae from attacking the roots? Cheers

stops them leavig the ground and i guess they just die, dont let it get to dry cause they then head for your roots for moisture, just the sand should do.

Again thanks man, will get straight on with it, i read from one post to use 1/4'' sand and another between 1 and 2'', what you recommend? By the way have you heard of using cinnamon against these pests?

goGnats Works well, just don't use it 2 weeks before harvest, or you may taste a little cedar.
