Default Petroleum Oil Kills Spider Mite Eggs!

"Petroleum oil provides some ovicidal activity against spider mite eggs. None of the other miticides provide ovicidal activity"

How come I haven't heard about this petroleum oil? Neem Oil seems to be very popular but according to the above statement, it won't kill the eggs(which is the biggest problem).

So, I purchased All Seasons Spray Oil (98% petroleum oil) and a trusty no pest strip. My ladies were 2 weeks into flower and had a pretty bad infestation. Sprayed the undersides of the leaves and the main stem heavily, tossed in the no pest strip(to kill the hatched mites). The next day I couldn't find any mites! eureka! I left the no pest strip in for a few more days, then I put it in a zip lock bag to save potency. If I see anymore mites I will toss it back in. It has been two weeks since, still no mites! So I assume this petroleum oil worked... I use my 100x microscope to examine the leaves and all that remains are the dead eggs. well, I assume there dead.

its only $13 at Home Depot.

Don't use it if your temps are 94 or above(which they shouldn't be ha ha).

I hope I helped save some bomb weed!

3 days ago i spotted two spider mites. I resprayed the plants, and tossed the no pest strip back in for two days. Spider mites are gone.

HOT SHOTS NO PEST STRIP. I still use them off and on and my plants are 50 days into flowering. I would personally use it up until a week before harvest. Good luck

would you use the petroleum oil 6 weeks into flower? I've had pest strips in and out for a month now.. (5 in a 4000w 900 cu ft grow) and still am seeing eggs, webs and some adults. mother fuckers. i'm vacuuming the webs up with a computer vac but the grow is just too big.. the only way to get to 12 of the 17 ladies is crawling and there's no standing up. Any adivce would be a huge help!

Its almost a lot cause unless you go full blast on trying to kill em. IE pull all the plants out, spray them all every single leaf, wipe off the eggs from every single leaf as welll with your finger. What I used to spray was a garlic/water solution HEAVILY. Also need to make sure you completely spray down your entire growing area. I did this then stuck em in the shjower the next day to rinse everything off and they havent been back

since you are currently flowering i would not spray them at night to avoid mold. When the plants wake up is a fine time.

be sure to shake the bottle up in between every few sprays. GOOD LUCK!
