Males Do not produce the flowers you are seeking.....![]()
I was wondering if a male plant was a bit more rugged then female.
For instance - can we have a male go through the dark, the light, the clouds, the rainy northern California winters (which are not too bad compared to many) and produce good seeds.
Has anyone done this? If so - what results did you get.
Or do we run the risk of a Hermie.
Any and all matters I may discuss is purely fiction and intended soley for amusment, imagination. I have not nor do I know anyone involved in illegal activity.

Males are basically a bunch of pollen pods. The pods open the pollen puffs out.
I dont know about more rugged but you can give them less light and they keep right on moving. I put my males in a box with a crappy flourescent long enough for them to drop pollen to collect.
I'm not seeking flowers - I seek seeds.

u need a male and a female to make seeds.
You take some of the pollen from the males (dust that comes out of the balls) put it on some of the flowers of the female. and Voila! You got seeds when the female is ready for harvest. Takes about 4 weeks from what I read to have good seeds. but if you're talking about making a male hermie and produce seeds I've never seen this happen.
Pollinate the female with the male pollen
I know that perhaps I wasn't clear. I was just asking if growing males was not so particular about light cycle.
Since the N CA winters are not ideal light wise to grow. If i grew out males - outside in the winter in a small green house of sorts, what would my final result be?
Would the males end result produce 50/50 male/female or an over abundance of hermies.
