Future IBL's- To Create Absolute quality
What's a hybrid you would want to cross, and then stabilize? i may just try growing it if it sounds dank... what characteristics would you want to further and pronounce with further inbreeding?
have you bred something that had an incredible rare pheno worth stabilizing?
Here are my future goals, already planned out and starting in 8 weeks.
Shambhala Kush(pre 98 bubba kush dominant female) x Caffeine (Coffee/cappuccino sativa dominant bagseed)
my favorite Qrazy Train(grape Koolaid pheno) clone x Purple Buddha (?) (20/80)
a potent clone of Tahoe OG (tahoe sati pheno) x Qrazy Train(my only male)(60/40)
Brainstormg13 haze x Tahoe OG - mostly sativa(80/20)
Ive just got some plans to be breeding for another few years, if i am successful at stabilizing my gear i hope to one day make it available online.
Recently i've been trying to breed autoflowering strains and have been successful in f1 stage while i am currently on the f2's, although i plan on making f2's of the most exceptional phenotypes from some (Brainstormg13 haze x Atomic Haze) i crossed around october.

shocked no one has even posted on this thread. i dont breed, but am very interested if i ever had the time and space. one rare pheno i would make a project to make it an IBL would be super silver haze x dj shorts blueberry to try and replicate that all so famous blue dream haze that is sadly a clone only strain. i was planning on ordering some beans but my funding didnt fall thru (shake my head) but i have a buddy who said they will give me super lemon haze clones to grow out so im eager for this summer

Well I do have several little projects going, but I am taking a very long road to get where I want to go. First of all I am working with strains from Sannie and Eskobar mostly and getting ready to start a C gold x lambsbread from USC. I picked Sannie and Eskobar because it is very easy to follow the lineage of their strains so when odd phenos pop you at least have a clue as to where they come from. Also, if you have a question they are more than happy to answer and/or give advice on pheno's what lineage might be expressing itself.
Lady Cane f2, Sannie's Jack f5, El Monstre f1 and herijuana are the basics I started with and now have many years to figure what the hell I have growing these out. As you can probably tell I am not a flavor of the month type person. Right now I have 3 phenos from Lady Cane going and have been backcrossed and I am currently growing out a cycle which is about 2 weeks from going into flower. Once these are determined what they are (type of flower) I will select the closet to the mother for pollination with all the males. I use several males to make seeds trying to keep the essence of the strain alive but knowing that the real treasures lie in the more rare pheno's. Then it is just a matter of years and countless plants and lots of fun finding out which males produced the pheno you are looking for within the strain.
I could go over the other strains I am doing this to but I can hear everyone yawning now. anyone interested further discussing this method just PM.
Good Luck to all those who chose to take the path less traveled.

Grape Ape!!!!! If you could take the clones and create a stable enough "feminized" seed to put out only 1 or 2 phenotypes, well sir, you would make me happy! Best Smoke Ever.

I like this!

FWIW, supposedly the Super Silver Haze is itself a variant of Jack Herer. Basically its just a different selection using the same parent lines.
Sannie offers a Jack Herer x Blueberry called, appropriately enough, "Jackberry". Its not quite stable yet, but he is on an F3 that offers two phenotypes, and reviews are good. The Sannie's Jack parent, is, by all accounts, pretty good, and I also believe he is using original Blueberry genetics directly from DJ short. The point is, if you're after a SSHxblueberry, this ought to be a pretty good rendition of something like that, that you could have sent right to your door in seed form at reasonable cost.
To answer the original question, with the usual caveats that I'm not a breeder, and lack the time space energy and dedication to actually pull these things off, *IF* those things were true, this is what I'd try:
1. Take a lowryder auto, then cross and backcross it to a herijuana plant to create a stable, inbred autoflowering "Hairy-ryder" that was otherwise identical to a conventional herijuana.
Its basically what DNA genetics has already done with its "60-day Wonder", only with Herijuana instead of William's wonder, and (unlike DNA) the backcrosses continued until the plant is absolutely stable. This is actually a very conceptually simple project, and in fact all of the crosses can be planned in advance with only selection for gender and autoflowering trait being necessary. Unfortunately, its still a 2-3 year project that requires the ability to select from at least ten plants at a time.
2. Next one is a little more crazy. The conceptual goal is to create something totally unique, specifically the ultimate "stealth" outdoor strain, using a variety of non-standard appearing strains hybridized together so that the offspring is short, stealthy, autoflowering, rapidly maturing, and looks as little as possible like a conventional cannabis plant.
Using only genetics that I'm aware of, I'd combine an inbred purple indica, a fast/potent ruderalis-based autoflower, Australian 'ducksfoot', and Oaxacan highland "creeper" strains, with the idea of creating a short autoflowering vine-like plant with non-conventional purple "ducky" leaves.
This one is amenable to more conventional selective breeding. EG you could do [(Purp x lowryder)x(Duck x Oa)] x [(Purp x lowryder)x(Duck x Oa)] to create a veritable "explosion" of phenotypes. Then you'd have to do some pretty careful selection to retain the traits you want, followed by several more generations of stabilization. Unlike the above project, this one would be more of a "crap shoot" in terms of finding specific offspring with good traits, and you're really need to generate dozens, if not literally hundreds of plants to do the best selection.
Again, not only is this not really a practical project for an amateur, but I'm not even sure that all these traits can be stabilized together. For example, the Ducksfoot trait, supposedly, is pretty hard to work with. I've never actually seen a "creeper" plant, but supposedly they do exist. Even so, the 'creeper' trait may simply not be compatible with the goal of a short fast-maturing plant. In theory, of course I'd be open to other potential "stealth" options involving non-standard cannabis traits, but in practice, since its just a pipe dream and I'm never going to actually try this, I'm not worried too much about it!

i bet its possible. it just takes a very long time.

how does sannies compare to the attitude? never used sannies

If you want to go to all that work I think you would be better off getting true IBL's, crossing em, seeing how the F1 is and then make your F2's and find your holy grail. Then work from there, just my opinion.

Sannie is having issues shipping to the states AFAIK, but he does not hide it. Amazing service IMO, but I am not in the United States. Most folks who have grown his gear love it though. I am in week 4 of flowering a few different strains of his and the furthest along (Herijuana) is looking pretty frosty already and smells unique as hell. I'm not bare bulbing it or supplementing UV either and the fan leaves are getting crystals. This weekend I am going to remove the UV protection and I expect to see even more crystals.
