    Well if you know what the parents are you can go back and breed the strain again. so then that plant isn't available only by clone, therefore not clone only

    Yea you got a point. In a sense the word is used rather vaguely. If the plant is clone only you can always stress it out to make fem seeds...carrying the strain through the seeds after breeding.

    I'm now switching the term clone only to something more suitable such as hybrid.

    just about every strain out and available today is a hybrid.

    It's still reproduction, the strain has reproduced through cuttings.

    i grew a Barneys Pineapple Chunk last year and cloned 10 clones then took mother plant and sprayed her with Colloidal silver to produce male flowers/pollen sacks then Collected that pollen and pollenate the ten clones this year i started the seeds and got 3 def.phenotypes ,one is a skunk,2 some cheese smelling plant,3 a pineapple plant,all def,looking

    I know this thread is old but thought I would just reply on it.... from my understanding "Clone Only" basically is a cutting from a plant that is a certain phenotype that is really good. That doesnt mean that it is a new strain, because as alot of people have pointed out if you buy a pack of seeds you'll get different phenotypes. Each Phenotype doesnt mean its a new strain. If that was the case every seed would be a different "strain"

    I don't know very much about breeding as I'm just now starting to get into it somewhat but I think that stabilizing the clone to the point where the seeds it could produce to be uniform is the hard part, the seeds you get from it will all be very different and a lot of different characteristics. I don't know really anything about creating Fem seeds tho.
