My First Breeding. Auto Flower, Feminixzed and Crossing

Sounds great. This is the first grow for me. The plan is to breed an Afghan male with a platinum kush female. It will be called Kabul Kush.

autoflower is not dominant to my knowledge, that means you got to select the autoflower in from a F2 cross

right time to check back in things are on their way although i have had a couple of school boy errors

planted the 3 seeds had a heater on in the cupboard they were in roots showed within a day i turned on light rdy for them to sprout but the combination of heater and light cooked the soil and killed the seeds
i also bought a cheap arse propagator and sowed straight into coco but i didnt plan on the transplanting bit and the roots showed very quiclkly out of the bottom so had to move them early. needed to cut the the seedlings out of the tray and one of the soil clumps broke up slightly on transplanting however the plants have already perked back up so i dont think theres any harm done. going to use peat pots as inlay for remaining seeds to stop that problem

transplanted on 19th

day 3 or 4(cant remember) growing well although stalks already having trouble holding leaf growth up

pics of roots first one had some root die off out of bottom of container and is slightly smaller than other 2 but im not too worried

hopefully they will be showing sex with a week or so i need to get some silver ordered rdy

@thcnoob i hope not as i'm not able to offer grow time up for doing f2 im only doing one seed run. but from everything i have read if both parents are auto flowers then the off spring would be auto's too i guess i'll have to wait and see

day 8 and one of them looks like their threatening to show

right its more than time for me to check in here again things have moved on somewhat now

day 15
first plant shows sex (its a girl (my heart sank knowing autoflower girls show up later than males))

day 16
second plant shows sex ?(its a girl)

day 19
last plant shows sex was one with slight root die off ( tis a girly too)

now 3 girls wasnt what i was expecting and this might cause some trouble later with timing of seeds

also all 3 plants have gotten far too rootbound to be left in the pots (i had hoped to squeese them into 7" 3.5 litre pots due to size restraints) but as all 3 are girls i cannot "up pot" as 8" pots wont fit into my room in numbers needed
that left me with only sensible option i could think of cut the bottom off pots and put ontop other 7inch pots

day 20
made my first batch of coloidal silver today.
i got a 1 gram silver bar from ebay (dinky little thing) i hit that bar with a hammer to flatten it out and make it bigger i then used some snips to cut it in half and soldiered it to some old speaker wire
i connected that up to an adjustable12dc powers upply and set it to 6v
now i couldnt find deionized/ distilled water in local shop so used water from my tap

the result was pretty comical the moment i switched on power supply a grey mist started falling from one of pieces of silver and within 5 mins the water had a slight yellow ting to it
now i realise that its the impurities in the water that caused it to happen but seeing as i got a yellow ting i decided to try it anyway

im using the plant that showed sex second as my pollen barer its a very similar size to the one that showed sex first but it didnt show signs of slight rootburn (from being rootbound) that the first one did

i used an old eye dropper to apply the solution to the lowest very first branches but due to water tension it beaded up and rolled off leaves so i added a tiny amount of washing up liquid meaning i could drench the leaves and the solution stayed there

once i had done that i planted last of my autoflower seeds
4x white russian (regular)
3 x pakistan ryder (fem)
1 x g13labs NL auto (fem)

day 21

applied dodgy solution to lower branches again

day 22 (today)

used same solution this morning on branches

went to (not so local) hardware shop and bought myself some deionized water now thats been running at 6v for last 30 mins and no sign of clouds of silver yet will use this batch when rdy in morning


thats about it i think things are progressing fairly well now its just a case of waiting to see how many of the white russians i got left will turn out to be girls and hoping that i get pollen sacks to form in time to pollenate my girls before its too late...

sidenote i'm starting to hate rollitup this is third time i wrote this and between rollitup going down and its crappy picture uploader i lost the previous ones so will put up pics in next post so this one isnt lost
