I would have told him to get bent ... but the seller was nice and since I was able to leave with my kidneys I tossed in an extra $10

HOLY SHIT THIS THINGS BRIGHT!

Pics obviously don't do it justice. I am thinking I will only need a couple cfl's to suppliment the sides.

Burning a fat wad of b-day keif before heading out to GF's for well... hehe and then Olive Garden... mmm

Like to know how this light holds up, heat produced and an idea of your yield. LED is the future, just waiting for today's prices. Durability is another issue I have with what I have read on some.

Yea me too... It should be comparable to 400 watt hps minus all the heat so we shall see. The fans I have will move a good amount of air as well. It's all in my siggy thread. Trying to get motivated to start installing the panda plastic on the bottom half of tv. I have top partially ready to go. It's painted with bahr low odor zero VOC ultra white paint. Two coats. Need to run to store for eye bolts to hang lights and some ducting and I think I will be good to go

Got a few seedlings sprouted under cfl's two more about to sprout. Just some bag seed from a dude in CO who had some pollen sneek by. No ID on strain. Going to order a few seeds here shortly. Reminds me to get a prepaid credcard.

Def the future. Durability shouldn't be a concern, with most lights all you have to do is un-solder a burnt diode and pop a new one in. Super simple.

As for the prices, it is already affordable, if you know your way around electronics. They are outrageously priced because it is "new" tech. which it is not! You can buy bulks 1-3 watt leds for super cheap and make your own light for a fraction of the cost 100 lights you could probably get for around $100 or so plus other components to build your light would be around $150-250 for that same light manufactured they would charge you $500+ which just blows my mind

Like my DWC units. My 5-gallon bucket experiment model then a 22 gallon big boy. Both for under $100 combined with better pumps and airstones than more expensive store bought units. I also build my own guitars and have for years. An American Strat costs over $1K? Like hell. I built my own Telecaster bass and it really looks like a Telecaster! Both for less than a Mexican Strat.

Been a long weekend and didn't have much time to work on the TV in secret so it ended up being long hours in the garage in the middle of the night.

I covered the back of the screen with panda plastic so the light doesn't shine through.... as beautiful as a blue/red shadowbox of pot leaves would be It defeats the point.

I have to admit... I wasn't a very big fan of trying to line the box with it. Was a bit more of a pain than i thought it would be.

But after a hour or two and a arse load of staples I got it all finished.

Cutting the rest of the angled wood out turned out to be a lil harder than I expected. Was three layers of wood glued together. I burned through a sawzall blade in less than a foot. Ended up getting a lil dangerous with the skillsaw.

I did three coats of the Bahre ultra white low odor / no voc and the black is still showing through a little but it should be sufficient I hope.

Holy crap this damn thing is heavy.. the canopy has to weigh at leas 80lbs and is huge and awkward. Was a bitch to get it on and off by myself and I have no intention of ever taking it off again.

This afternoon I got the ventilation system installed.

5" Hole-saw ripped through like it was nothing thankfully.

Unfortunately the screws i used where a tiny bit too long .... oops. Nothing a lil ductape cant fix

Here it is with the netpot carbon filter and air intake in place. hardly any noise... hopefully none with the screen on

Now I just need to get off the couch and finish the electrical. Estimating that after I order seeds and all that build will be well under $300
