So this year i ordered 15 auto flowering seeds of nirvana. 5 blue mystic, 5 northern lights and 5 bubblicious. I also have 1 cheese plant and 1 NYPD plant that are not auto flowering. This is a outdoor grow, i do it every year, different place. I start these babies inside for the first half a week to a week.

Starting time was Tuesday June 26th
They were potted on Saturday June 29th

The cheese and NYPD are in big 5 gallon buckets
The other 15 are in various pots sized between 3-5 gallons

Half were potted in Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix and the other half were potted in Miracle-Gro Organic Choice Garden Soil. The reason why it was half and half was because we cleaned out walmarts selection of the miosture control and still needed more soil lol. Now miracle-gro isnt my first choice and alot of people say it doesnt work. But since i live in Ontario and fox farm soil is not available to me and i needed alot of bags of soil, walmart was the best bet for me. The soils been working great for me so far, plants are doing wonderful. Its also cool to see the difference in the soil as the plants start growing (they are about the same, if anything the moisture control is better).

So since planting outside, i lost 5 plants due to deer. I lost 4 northern lights and 1 bubblicious. It sucked but i couldnt get out there to spray deer repellent before that happened. Now i have since sprayed the area with havaheart deer deterent spray, pepper, human hair and garlic. Havent had a problem since . So after loosing those 5 plants, i cut 5 clones, so now im back up to my 17 plants...yay!!

Okay so its thursday July 19th and here are the pictures They start there 4th week aprox tomorrow. The names are in short form but this is how it goes in order:

Theres blue mystic: Blue&Blue1 are same plant. Blue2, Blue3 (different plants) and Blue 4 and 44 are the same plant.
Theres Bubblicious: BL, BL1 &BL2 all different plants, the 4th bubblicious was alot smaller so theres no picture.
Cheese is my only cheese plant, hasnt shown its sex yet and its growing fantastic. (It got eaten alive by ants before it was put in its perminate growing place, has made a full recovery).
The Next picture is 1 out of 5 clones i have, they all look the same really. There 4 Days old in the picture, standing on there own so i have faith they'll do good.
NYPD: (Forgot to name the picture so its our of order). This has shown its sex...female! Yay (it was not feminized like my auto's).
Northern Lights: Like i said before, deer ate 4 out of 5, this is my remaining NL plant, doing great!
NYPD: There 2 pictures of my very big for its age NYPD plant. We had plucked the tops when it was young and now has several tops! Doing awesome, almost out grows the grass

Thats all for now. Any questions are welcome. Ill be updating this as the growing season goes on!! Happy Growing Everyone

Love the pics! Trying my first grow with a single unknown seed. Its been about 6 weeks and my plant is green , 3 feet tall , loaded with leaves, bushey with some leaves with minor insect damage. I cant see any flowering yet. Outside grow in Northern Vermont ( Green Mountains) . I really dont have a clue what im doing. Is there a easy to understand book that will help a newbie? Like " Growing pot for dummies? I,m hoping for the best as i,m using weed to replace a medicine i take to sleep at night. Also my wife is a couple of years into Parkinsons disease and she tried two hits one night.. I asked her the next morning if it helped and she said she hasnt slept that good in years. In my country area i dont have a clue to where to find fertilizer that would meet my needs. My area is dairy country so we have plenty of farm stores to buy from. BUT i dont know what to buy. I have my plant in miracle grow in a 5 gallon bucket with drainage holes. I put about 1 teaspoon of Miracle grow flower shake and feed in a couple of days ago. I mixed it in the top inch of soil. I water every other day about 1 to 1 1/2 gallons of well water. Trying to get seeds is like trying to find gold in the brook next to my house! How do you get seeds from a mail order company without big brother snagging them?

Thanks alot, yes there really coming along. Okay so im assuming its a regular plant, like a couple of mine, not a auto flower. Its great that your one seed worked out for you.. lets just hope its female. I dont know if you know how to tell or what not but a female plant produces the bud that you smoke and the male only produces seeds. Usually i throw out the male because its useless to me because i have females and if there kept together your female's buds will end up having seeds in it. But in your case i would keep it if it was male just to get the seeds for your next time growing. You say its 3 feet, okay so you should be able to see if its male or female soon, some plants take longer then others so be patient. If its female you'll see little white hairs (pistols) coming from between the stock and the leaves and if its male you'll see balls in the same area. Once you figure that out, and lets assume its female cause i dont know much about harvesting males cause i kill them when i relize its not female.

Okay so you've got your plant... Your pot and soil sound good, so keep your plant in that for its whole life. If you just keep it outside the sun will grow it no problem. As for nutrients, since your a beginner i wouldnt feed it anything. Ive done many grows with no nutrients, its not a must have when growing. But if anything this is how it goes:

You would feed it grow nutrients starting at about 4-6 weeks of age, once a week (as bottle says) until there is about 10 hairs in one area because that means your plant is starting to bud and its time to switch to budding nutrients. So you feeding it flower nutirents already is a big no no because its going to make your plant want to flower. You have to keep in mind that plants take about 4 full months to grow, thats why its important to get it out on time so it can be finished on time. If you dont think it will have enough time to complete its buds beofre frost, you can start the flowering nutrients a little early to make it start to bud. Flowering nutrients would be the same thing, once a week as the bottle says. Now you asked where to buy these nutrients. Youi can just use mirical grow line of nutrients, there not the best but they work and you can usually find them in most stores. I ordered mine online this year, best nutrients out there by far. The website is called advanced nutrients but keep in mind it can be confusing if you dont know what to look for cause theres so many kinds. I'd just get a basic grow, or flower nutrient. If you cannot find any in stores and dont want to buy online you can go to your farming store and get chicken, sheep or cow poo. Mixing this in with your soil will work wonders for youe plant and is probably the best for you.

As for watering, theres really no set times for watering. I'd say every other day but its not nessasary if your plants already wet, weed plants dont like to be soaked.

Now you talked about where to get seeds. I usually go up to high times in niagara falls and buy them or i get them online. Yes there is some chance of something happening to them, thats why you have to get off a reputible company. This year my seeds came from nirvana's website (type nirvana seeds in your search engine), they have a great selection of seeds and they all turned out great for me. Really fast shipping. And the other one i would send you to would be the one on this website. You just click on seeds at the top of the page, this is the most trusted place for people to get seeds, again great selection. The seeds i have this year are called auto flowering seeds, which means they only grow a foot or two and then bud, unlike normal plants which grow for months and then bud. These guys only take 60-70 days to be done, there great little things. If you wanted to try them they'd be under auto flower section on the seeds website. I would do the same thing, just plant them and let mother nature do her thing, wouldnt worry about any nutrients, there quite easy if your looking for a faster smoke.

Thats pretty well it for growing.. Just got to germinate the seed, plant it in a nice big pot and let mother nature do the rest. Take a look around this website, theres lots of good information out there for new growers. Theres a newbie section in the forum and also a outdoor grow section that will be very helpful to you. I would stay away from people talking about growing inside cause that will just confuse you because it can be very complicated.

I really hope this helps you and good luck with your plant and future growing. You can always message me or whatever for any questions you may have. Happy growing

Thanks for all the info. It is a female plant and i took a magnifying glass to look it over. I found what looks like 2 small very thin hairs which if i recalll are facing down. I believe its starting to flower. Our season for outside grow is very short. End of may to first week of september and theres a good chance of frost. Thhanks agin for simplifing some of this stuff ! Your welcome i really hope it helped. Yeah may 24 weekend is when plants are suppose to be planted or put outside of whatever until the end of september, beginning of october. It is a little short season you have down there but still enough time to grow some nice plants if you get it out on time. If theres only 2 hairs, its not starting to bud, plants show there sex way before starting to bud. Its when you see 10 or more hairs in a cluster that its starting to bud. But like i said just let it do its thing, i wouldnt worry about nutrients. And by next year you should know everything there is to know and can experiment with nutirents and such.

Well looks like i have 10 or more buds growing at this point. The plant is about 40 to 44 inhes tall. Some of the smaller bottom leaves are turning a bit yellow so i pinched off maybe 8 to 12 so far in the last couple of weeks. Now if the frost stays away until mid October i might hve a chance to see some harvestable bud! I never did find anything to keep insects away but not much damage as i have been going out daily to inspect my plant.
