the earth is your bottle...
......i no longer use bottles......i am anti-bottle...i do what ever it takes to give my plants everything they need without me having to unscrew a cap........i am finding myself not only searching for my ingredients close by (i.e Amish soil mix), but also trying to find as much as i can on the property where i call home......i am in the process of building, and installing bat houses, with a collection area, and i also make my own castings, so i can control what goes into them, and ultimately what is fed to my plants.......i don't use blood or bone, because i grew up in farm country, and am well schooled on what we pump into those poor cows (another story, another time)....i use guanos instead.....anyways, i still have to buy my high P guano, fish bone meal, dolomite, and azomite......and of course my base, but really thats about it......
......i have recently discovered the miraculous properties of a very common plant....Comfrey......this plant is amazing in and of itself, and is my alternative to any sea vegetable (i.e kelp)......this plant is loaded with N, K, Cal, Mg, Iron, and micro nutes galore.....it also is a Dynamic Accumulator, which are plants that mine nutrients from the soil through their roots, and store them in their plant bodies......and if that wasn't enough, it is a enzymatic catalyst, and contains a substance called allotoin, which heals damaged plant, and animal (skin) cells!.......it is also known to have a unique symbiotic relationship with mike fungi, helping it colonize within, and beyond it's root zone.........hells yeah!....this plant has it all, and it grows all over the globe.......
....i happen to have a patch in the garden, and thought i would share how i harvest, and use it in my "elixer" teas.........you can make a stinky tea using it green, and letting it rot.....but i find drying it is better for me........using the sun, a coffee bean grinder, and a food processor, i get it processed down to an easily absorbable powder, then use it along with my guano, castings, and sucanat to make a very benificial tea to use in all phases of plant development......i also plan to use it in place of kelp in my next super soil mixing project.........have a dank day.....nugbuckets
