This would work well but if your going to use 9 plants they will be of good size and will probably make a pretty uneven canopy. You could consider installing eye hooks as tie-down points for training your plants or a SCROG screen. I like the concep here.

I actually have been thinking of buying the "C.A.P. Ebb n flow system from Hydrogalaxy.com it has 10 6"x6" spots but I am thinking I will only grow 6 plants and have six plants vegging(in a smaller grow box that I have). So I can have a fresh harvest every 2 months. And the inlet fan and co2 cylinder I probably won't get until my 3rd harvest or so. I am also thinking about a 600 watt if I only do 6 plants. We will see what I can afford.

Pending the cost of the store bought ebb & flow system, you may be able to build it for less than half cost. The biggest expense will be the tray, which I would buy. If you consider building it, PM me if you have any questions. Looks like it would be a fun and efficient operation. Good Luck!
