I have another question... Do I check my pH before or after I mix my nutrients together... I'm currently using the liquid version of pH testing... When I check it after I mix my nutrients, its a color that's not on my color chart... its a deep orange... Even with adjusting with pH down and pH up, I can't match any to what's on the color chart. Yellow means 6.0, blue is 7.0. So, check it after of before?

is it the extended scale ph test kit? it should go from 4.0 to 8.5
if not youre going to be working in such a tiny range that you'd be better off spending ten bucks and grabbing a good one.

I'd check what your water is at before and after to see what your nutes are doing. sounds like its dropping your ph a lot.

Learning ph myself. On my scale orange is 4.0<. Took alot of ph up to raise it. (ph seems to lower easier than raise) I check before and after adding my nutes, the Pro Bloom 1-4-5 lowers it about 2 points. My water goes in at 5.0 and soil ph is about 6.3. Using MG soil this time. FF next time. Still trying to get a handle on how ph works.

@Greenscreen, no its actually (don't laugh) a fish aquarium testing kit.. It ranges for 7.0 to 6.0. Truly not fit for my hobby. I order a digital pH tester off eBay days ago, but haven't received it yet. Patiently waiting so that I know for sure, cause some of my top leaves are starting to turn sideways.. maybe pH issues... Idk...

I have a TDS meter, I'm lost when it comes to ppm and all that (but that's another story)... but indeed that's something and pH, that I need to get a hand on
