Doing a little experiment, going to grow my next two plants 12/12 lighting schedule from start to finish. I have heard good as well as bad things about this method, well I guess I just want to find out for myself and see what I can do. I heard this is good for Sativa strains that are very tall growing, controlling them to stay smaller for indoor growing purposes, I know some strains don't have problems with this lighting regimen, others do, especially sativas that require a longer flowering time than others. Well since they were germinated from bag seed, what do I have to lose with a little experimentation? Best way to learn is to get experience, i heard.

yes this does work. It tricks the plant into accelerated growth because it replicates fall 12on 12 off and rushes growth to finish plant before winter. The drawback is you compromize your yield. This practice is used outdoors with better results. Plants are germd late in the season june/july. I would recomend a shorter veg cycle. And cropping tops . I have grown a Thai strain very large plants 6 ft plus in a 3x5 grow room. When a plant is in veg three main things happen . Its just not about the height of the plant its also involves developing a good root base and thick stalk. All these are crucial for growth. Good root base helps deliver nutrients to the stalk thick stalk gives a good pipeline for nutrients to go from roots to stalk , and finally leaves to store all that food for flowering. Think of nutrients as fuel and the roots and stalk are the pipeline. The biger the pipe (stalk) and pump(roots) the more you fill youre fuel tank(leaves) for that tasty big buds. Top youre plants instead you double the colas and you can clone youre trimming.

Thanks for the info angus. That thai strain sounds great! My next grow I am going to up my lighting from my little puny 70 w hps and cfls to a 400 w hps and probably still use the cfls for side lighting and I am thinking about going with some autoflowering Northern Lights or autoflowering Bubblelicious seeds from Nirvana Seeds for my next go around.
