Well, Im kind of new to the whole world of "grow you own" but, if I were you, I would let it keep on growing, and see what happens to it. I saw one of those today in Walmart, when I was doin a little shopping for my own grow, and had the same idea you have here. So, regardless, I really just want to see where this goes. Keep us updated.

aslong as there is still some fan leaves on it it will be fine the new stems will apear from where the fan leaves are at the stem so keep it up and watch what happens i can see a few places where they will appear so you should be fine

I am using the strawberry one. It has no holes on the bottom and 12 holes all around it. I have my plants growing out on sticks instead of letting them go natural and curve up and they are doing awesome. Its like one plant becomes 12 when you tie them down. I used the tomato turvey last year and tho it did well I like the strawberry one a bit better and converted the tomato one to a stawberry one. If you have extra plants you can always cut holes into your existing turvey and see what i mean. You will get a great yield from it I just like the strawberry one cause of what you can do with the plants by letting them grow out. Maybe next year you can try the other one or if you can or have extra plants you can just cut some holes in the one you have now. It works great and you'll find it even works indoors as long as you rotate the lights around it. I have one that i have converted so all you do is stagger as many holes as you want (i did about 7 i think) and once they are cut and the plants are in I just put rocks around the stems to support them or you can cut a sponge but the rocks work just as good. Mine was like yours already on the go with soil and all and you just take a spoon and remove the soil from the new holes and plop the plant in. Also notice that the ones growing out have gotten a lot more sunlight then the one growing down. I have 3 planters in total. 2 strawberry ones and the one I converted like yours. I also didn't put the lid on and threw a plant in the top of it lol. Gl bro but these things are awesome and you can get very creative once you see how they work. I thought I was the only one gutsy enough to try it.
