At temperatures lower than 65 degrees, drying time will be lengthened. At temperatures higher than 75 degrees, the heat will cause the outer portion of the bud to dry quicker than the inner part, and the taste will suffer.

At humidity levels lower than 45%, the marijuana will dry too fast and the taste will suffer.
Keep a hygrometer and a thermometer in the drying area, close to the plants. A hygrometer will allow you to keep an eye on the relative humidity level in the room and a thermometer will display the temperature. Some hygrometers have built in thermometers so you can measure the temperature and humidity together.

Curing marijuana

It will take at least a week or two to dry the crop with temperatures between 65-75 degrees F and relative humidity between 45%-55%. You will know when the marijuana is dry if the stems snap or break (rather than fold) when they are bent. Try smoking a small bud (1/2 gram or less) in a joint to be sure it is dry enough.

At this time, small buds will be dry enough to smoke. But larger buds should be cured (slow dried) to ensure that the marijuana is as potent and tasty as possible. If necessary, you can set aside buds that are less than 1/2 gram for smoking, while larger buds cure.

The cure lasts a week or two. The aim of what you are doing is evenly finishing the slow dry process, so that mold will not grow when the buds are stored long term. Also, by the end of the cure, any remaining inactive THC will be converted to active THC (that increases potency).

Gently place your marijuana in the containers (cut buds to size if the are too big to fit in the container) and put the top on. Store the containers in a dark area where the temperature is between 50-65 degrees and the humidity is between 40%-60%.

You will have to open the containers for a few minutes to allow moisture to escape by fanning with your hand. If any moisture builds up on the inside of the cap on your container, wipe it off. Do this preferably 2-6 times daily, at regular 4-12 hour intervals.

You should also re-arrange the buds by giving them a quarter-turn once a day. This will ensure that different parts of the buds are exposed to the air in the container. Keep up this routine for 7-10 days. When properly dried, marijuana will burn evenly when smoked in a joint (if stems are removed).

You can see the three leaves burnt from early nuting, but the plant is producing new leaves fast. I will be attempting to keep her canopy as flat as possible.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
NL#1 is still growing strong. Many top budsites. The canopy is uneven again, but at this point there is not much I can do about it.
The clone was over dosed on nutes or root bound. Idk and don't really care. It is still growing and has been transplanted. A leaf died from over dose, but I flushed last week so the prob should go away soon.
I killed NL#2 today. She was just growing sooooo damn slow. When I pulled her from the soil she barely had any roots. I even dumped the soil out to see the bottom hair roots. NONE.
I think I may have been over watering her and drowning the roots. It has been really hot and humid out. The humidity was prob making her pot stay wet longer than than my indoor plant.
Whatever. Now I don't have to worry about having company out in my florida room. :-P
She also had a really bad fungus gnat infestation. Didn't want to bring THAT inside.
I was reeeeally leaning towards getting a new light this week. Unfortunately I pulled my back and had to spend the money on a doctor visit. I figure I'll just run with the cfls for this grow. Next Grow I will have PL-L T5.
(btw the burnt tips on pic number one is from them touching the lights.)
~~~~~

I now have two 35watt 6400k bulbs over the clone. These growlight CFLs produce 2400 lumens each and produce damn near even across the spectrum. 7 bucks. =)
I think I may have fucked with NL#2 too much.. word of advice, if you LST, do not try to force the same area into the opposite direction. Split her main stem. I will update in a few days.

I went out and bought some pyrethrinxcanola oil spray and misted her real good. Take THAT!

Growth has been slow the past 5 days. It has been cloudy and raining alot, and the last two nights were in the mid 60s. (Wth?) It is sunny today and I hope to see some faster growth this week.

Edit: Fuck it. I decided to LST now.. I don't want to burn anymore leaves or run out of space. Hopefully this will help the secondary nodes produce more as well. I will post pics in a few days when the top has started growing vertically again.

NL#2, sigh...

I don't know what the hell is going on with her.. she didn't want to grow for a whole week. I am starting to see new growth now. I am thinking it was a combination of high heat and the stress training that slowed her down.

A black fly was buzzing around her today.. and I noticed a weird black speck on a top leaf that would not blow or brush off. Before I could think better of it, I reached out and tryed to pick it off with my NAIL! AUGH! I am retarded. I left a small hole in the leaf.. I was worried it was an egg. I hope I didnt damage the leaf by touching it with my skin.

I cut her from the strongest secondary growth tip of NL#1 with a razor. I soaked her stem in water about 5 min while I mixed some growth hormone in a shot glass. I used Bontone root powder and enough water to make a thick paste. I scrapped the stem an inch and coated her real good in hormones. Then I put her in my premade hole in promix. Firmed the soil around her and misted her and the humidity dome.

Since then I have misted her and the dome twice.
I decided to make her a tent to be in once she has rooted.
NL#2 still in process of being LSTed. I want her to grow a bit more and then she will get pulled down again.
Pics of NL#1 tomorrow. I counted four preflowers on her today and she is 12 inches tall.

I started LSTing NL#2. I plan to have her growing on the outside edge of the pot.
SHE'S A LADY!

She is 11 inches tall this morning and I can't wait to see her get little flowers at each of her nodes.
