My girl's trichs were mostly milky when I checked with my magnifier over the weekend, with a few ambers here and there, so I decided to go ahead and chop her since she would have been flowering 9 weeks this Wednesday anyhow. I don't have a scale so I don't know what I've gotten off of her, but it's not too bad for my own personal stash, not to mention the good amount I plucked to test last week. BTW, I tasted some of that test stash and was quite impressed with the buzz I got. By the 3rd pull of the blunt I had to put her down (I'm more into growing than smoking so it doesn't take much), and I was lit up for a good 2 hours. The taste was a little harsh on the very first pull since it was a blunt, so my old man puffed it down a bit and when I got it back the smoke was smooth tasting, but hard to hold in! Definitely makes you cough but not a burning sensation to the chest or anything. I was really able to taste her on that 2nd and 3rd pull, and I could detect a hint of grapefruit taste which I'm sure will get stronger after curing.

I enjoyed this grow and smoke so much that I decided to try my hand at regeneration. I've never done it before so I have no clue what to expect. The only thing I did NOT like about harvesting this girl was the amount of leaves she had on her. She was not loaded with huge fan leaves, she had a lot of small, bushy, resin-covered leaves so she was a bit of a bitch to manicure. Nevertheless, she's worth it and I look forward to smoking her cured bud. I'll report back after I've toked it. Here are some closing pics:
Popped a few seeds a couple of weeks ago since I knew my Satori's journey was coming to an end, so journey with me on my next grow here.

Peace to all, and as always ... much grow love! :weed:

My Satori girl is 8 weeks flowering now and is soon to be done. Some of her pistils are starting to turn orange and her buds/leaves are getting frostier by the day. I am almost sad that her grow is coming to an end soon as she has been a joy to watch from seed to beautiful flower. I have another seed but instead of starting from scratch I'm actually thinking of trying to regenerate her after harvest as I've never tried doing that with any strain in the past. According to my old man after he smoked the test buds taken a few days ago (I want to wait until she is COMPLETELY finished), he said she is a "perfect" smoke and he is ready for me to do a full harvest /cure!! But I know she still has more to give and if she's "perfect" now, she is going to knock him on his ass in a couple of weeks! Again, this girl has been a real delight to grow, I highly recommend her as she has been tough, resilient and relatively easy to grow. I can not WAIT to try her smoke once she is officially finished and dried over the next couple of weeks!!:

Checked my Satori girl's trichs today to see how close we are as I was going to give her another 2 weeks for a total of 10 weeks flowering. There were way more milky-looking trichs than I'd expected as she still looks to me as though she has a long way to go. There were no amber trichs yet; however, I only like a few as I prefer more of a head stone. Nevertheless I'm going to let her keep going until at least a few amber trichs appear and I'm also hoping she fattens up just a bit more -- she just doesn't seem fully ready to me. Anyway, here's the few buds harvested today:

Been a minute since I posted on my Mandala Seeds Fruitylicious and Satori grow. Last post I mentioned how I had to go out of town and the girls were without food, water, or fresh air for 5 days as they sat in temps that reached 100F and above. The Fruitylicious was the worst upon my return and looked like she was going to die. Although I gave her lots of TLC for several days, she continued to dry up and eventually died. Sad situation but there was still hope in the form of my Satori girl who, to date is doing fabulous. My only issue with her is that she seems to be slow in flowering. I put her under my 400 watt HPS light and I can tell she is going to have some nice buddage on her, but I think the fact that I started budding her under the lower light intensity T5s delayed her progress by about two weeks.

To date my girl has been flowering for 6 weeks, 1 day (43 days), and I know she should have more weight on her by now. But I can see significant progress in her buds swelling now that I have her under the HPS light ... instead of being finished by week 8, she'll probably be ready more like week 10 of flowering. It's cool though, I have no problem being patient with her based on all the smoke reports I've read about how good her smoke is!

Enough chatter, here's my Satori lady:

For months I've known I was going to have guests coming into town this week, so I prepared for it and knew exactly what I was going to do with my girls during their visit. As it turned out, we had an emergency situation and I had to go to the relatives at the spur of the moment instead of them coming to me. I had already moved my grow tent to it's new location and everything but had not yet moved the girls into them. I kept them in the closet where the grow tent used to be with a plan to move them at the very last second 'cause with them trained on my screen I knew moving would be a challenge.

With the change of events and my unexpectedly leaving town with no plan B, my girls got absolutely no TLC for the past 5 days -- no air conditioning, no fresh air, no water or food. When I came back into town last night it was lights out so I didn't want to bother them, but damn ... what I found this morning was not pretty. Nevertheless it taught me a lot about my strains. The Fruitylicious, which I've mentioned in previous journal entries is already somewhat fragile, looks a HOT MESS! I don't know whether she is going to come back from this neglect. She looks like she is not going to make it. Wilted and dead leaves all over the place. Although her soil was not completely dried out, she is thirsty and was sitting in temps of over 100 degrees for several hours each day without any fresh/cool air for relief .
Now my Satori girl is WHOLE nother matter. This girl is a trooper!! Under the same exact f**ked up conditions she remained hardy, and she seems totally unscathed by the trauma, she is just a bit thirsty and hungry. The only burnt/dead leaves she has is on the tips of some that GREW into the light while I was gone. This bitch is bad-ass!! I LOVE this strain and if it looks like I have to scrap my Fruitylicious grow, I may change the present course of this grow and put Satori girl under my 400 watt HPS so that she can really produce like it seems she wants to. She has developed new bud sites in my absence and has the potential for a damn good yield.

First off I've got to say that this is the longest I have ever waited for plants to show sex! Then again, this is the first time that I have ever flowered under less than 400w HPS lighting so ... I guess that has a lot to do with the delay. I've been flowering 14 days today and am finally seeing a few white "hairs" appear on my Satori baby!! Yaaaayyy!!! I'm glad to know that she is a girl, especially because she is the healthier-looking of the two plants. Additionally, she grows full and bushy like I like my plants to grow. The Fruitylicious girl is growing nicely but responds much differently than the Satori under the same exact conditions. She seems to be more sensitive to heat and nutes. I'm noticing she gets brownish at the edges of her leaves constantly and her stems are thinner/more fragile-looking. She is certainly a sativa-dominant strain in appearance, and although I purchased feminized Fruitylicious seeds, she is STILL not "officially" showing her sex. No hairs ... nothing! I've heard that sativas show sex later because they typically take much longer to grow in general, but I figured since I vegged for 6 weeks she would have at least shown signs of her sex by now.

Okay, enough chatter. Here's how the "girls" are looking today. The ladies underwent some training before these pics so they look sort of sparse in some areas:
Hopefully we'll have some major changes in the next week when I check in again ... quite honestly these girls still look like they are in the veg stage to me! But hey, I've got some smoke so I'm not really in a rush.

Till next time, peace and much grow love!

The lovelies have been flowering for 6 days now so the Satori's sex is not yet evident/confirmed. I placed wire storage cubes in the grow tent so each plant will grow through it's own individual "screen" if you will. I'm going to test these storage cubes to see if they are efficient for my first time SCROG. This grow has also become an experiment of a first time HO T5 grow start to finish.

Now that my fruitylicious is 6 weeks old and the Satori will be 6 weeks in a couple of days, I've decided to go ahead and throw them into the 12/12 cycle. I'm really eager to find out if the Satori is male or female so I'll know how to handle the remainder of the grow. I wanted to wait to flower until my guest came and left, but hell, I can be half way through my flowering cycle by then!! I'll work up a plan for the week that they are here.

Anyways ...

Here are what the babies are looking like as of today:

Fruitylicious 44 days old - I've been really tender and loving with her since my recent blunt-induced abuse of her!! She has recovered quite nicely and is showing me much love in return. Gotta love these plants!! I've noticed that her stems are much thinner than the Satori's. Wonder if that's common to the strain but won't know until someone else does a grow journal on this strain or I decide to grow the strain again from seed:
Again ...

To all of y'all like me who are more addicted to growing than smoking, when you DO smoke ... LEAVE YOUR GARDEN ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wall: :bigjoint:

The Satori is the shiznit though ... I was actually hoping for a male so I could collect seeds, but now I would like for "her" to be a femme -- "she" is sexy as hell! I've never cloned before but think I may have to try my hand at it. I love thick, bushy plants so I am lovin' what this plant is doin':
Next ... I know better than to smoke and train but I did it anyway. I was real easy on my Satori bush and just pulled a few of her branches down and trimmed the edges off of some fan leaves to let light get to more of the new lower leaves:
I ended up UNINTENTIONALLY topping her and bending her to the point of needing a stick to prop her back up. She did not like being bent and would probably do much better with a SCROG, but now that my mind is clear for the moment, I don't even wanna mess with her anymore. She needs some time to recover from my overly-medicated state and abuse! I'm soooo glad these babies bounce back from this type of shit:

Sigh ...

I am ready to throw my babies into their 12/12 cycle so I can see what sex my Satori is! Found out the exact date my visitors will be coming and it's going to be the 30th of July through August 5th!! That's another 5 weeks away! Since I wanted to try to scrog this grow, I would have to keep vegging until my guest is gone because if I start now it will be challenging to move 5 weeks into flowering with a full screen.

Sigh again ...

Debating whether or not to continue vegging a total of 10 weeks so I can Scrog once my company is gone (should make for some beautiful plants and nice buds by doing so!), or just go ahead and flower now using my typical LST training method and try a scrog on the next grow. Hmmmm .... decisions decisions.

Thought transplanting into my 3 gallon smart pots would be the last transplant I'd have to do for the remainder of the grow but ... I've noticed that a few roots have started coming through the bottom of my Fruitylicious girl's pot. Guess I'll do one more transplant this week into my 5-gallon, microkoted pots which I know will take me through the remainder of the grow. I'm really bummed about my flowering issue ... it seems like a small deal but you know how it is when you are really eager to try something you have not tried before ... you want to do it NOW!!! I want a SCROG experience badly! I'll give myself 'til the end of the week to ponder what I want to do; that way, my Satori will be 5 weeks old should I decide to go on and flower.

Enough chatter -- here are the babies. They just got a watering so they are a bit droopy this morning:
The Satori is getting wider with big leaves while the Fruitylicious is getting taller. I had to put Satori's grow bag on some old video tapes so that she could be nearly as tall as the Fruitylicious and would not be too far from the T5 lights. They remain healthy though:
