SO.
We have germination on all the strains, and sproutage on three different strains so far.
*Note* they are only numbered because we haven't yet named them and we have multiples of some strains.

Rasberry Cough 1

Blackjack 2 doesn't have any pics yet

All in all everything is going well, only one of the seeds we germinated isn't in dirt yet. But that's only because she's a late bloomer. Hopefulle we'll have more to share soon! Thanks for reading <3

Chance - 19 Days Old

We are amazed at how much our Chance has grown. She is only 2 weeks and 4 days old.

March 23rd 12:59pm the day we put her in the peat pellet and started counting her days of life.

March 25th 3:51pm

March 25th 8:17pm, she has grown significantly in just 4 hours

March 26th 11:43am

March 27th 10:28pm

March 30th 2:31am

April 1st 4:05am

April 4th 12:05pm

April 5th 9:16pm

April 9th 12:15am

April 10th 2:07pm

So as you can see she's doing great, besides the slight nitrogen defficency, but we're working to fix that. She's just the way we want her to be.

About a month ago, we ordered some seeds from The Attitude. Three strains; Rasberry Cough, Blackjack and Tangerine Dream. Along with those we got three free mystery seeds. After a lot of anticipation, and checking my email a zillion times a day. THEY HAVE ARRIVED!!!!

On Friday, March 8th we checked the mail and there was our package,. We germinated them the same hour :bigjoint:
Our mystery seeds ended up being, Diesel, Blue Hash and White Widow. Three great strains.
We germintaed three of each the rasberry, and blackjack. The three free ones and one of the tangerine... So with any luck we will have 10 seedlings and our already growning plant, Chance.

It's been a while since my last post. But our little beauty has grown so much since then.
Here's her life line so far:

March 18th was the night we found the seeds

March 23rd

By March 25th 3pm she was popping out of the dirt

The same day, March 25th, 5 hours later at 8pm this is what we found

March 26th

March 27th

I neglected to take pictures on the 28th & 29th lol

March 30th

I also neglected to take pictures on the 31st

April 1st :-D

We also got word today that our seeds from The Attitude will be here by April 5th!

Our Chance

We have sproutage!! Our little seedling sprouted and began to grow in only 24 hours. I checked on her last night to make sure the temperature and everything was doing ok, and we got a huge surprise! We have chosen to name her Chance.

this is what she looked like yesterday afternoon, before being put in the peat pellet.

then when we checked on the temp. this is what we found :-)

&then right before bed, we checkd again, and another surprise, she's come out to say hello to the world.

This morning when we woke up and checked on her, this is what she looked like. She's getting so big fast, thats a good sign.

In my last journal entry I talked about the seed we found, and it germinating. Well we have found two more and have germinated them. Only one has cracked so far and shown her tail (tap root). We put her in a peat pellet yesterday.

as you can see in this picture, the other seed has not cracked yet.

So we now have two seedlings in our grow box. The first seedling, we put her in the peat pellets about a week to a week and a half ago. She has yet to do anything, we are going to further investigate that tonight. Next Thursday we are getting our clones. I'll keep you posted on what strain he gives us. This upcoming Monday it will be 2 weeks since I mailed out our order to The Attitude for our seeds.

All's well that ends well.So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'll post again when the seedlings pop out of the dirt and say hello to the world!

Don't Worry, Be Happy.

It's been a couple of days. But we are just putting the last little details, mostly specs., together.
I finally got the order form printed out, so the money order is on it's way to The Attitude as of Monday.

In the mean time that little girl we found hiding on us.

She germinated, in only 48 hours! (good sign)

& So we now have her in a peat pellet and under the lights. Along with our bonsai tree seedlings lol. The one on the right is the marijuana seedling lol.

Let me explain some of the changes we've made to our setup.

Expanding - We have expanded, and now are using the entire desk. We seperated it into two though, one taller slimmer box for the mother plants and budding, and one short long box for clones and the initial start of it all. We have yet to build our PC grow box, but we don't need it right away.

Mylar - Makes a huge difference from the thick white plastic that we did have. The temperature is up due to the MASSIVE amount of reflection compared to the plastic. Go mylar! :clap: lol

Reinforcement of the box and NEW doors - We used a ton of screws and 2x2's to sturdy up the desk our grow box is made of. && New doors keep unwanted pests out. At the moment they're held on by four screws, but that will soon be replaced by locks.

Lights - We were using flourescents with the last ones, for lack of better materials. But we have decided to go with a CFL/HPS mix this time. One HPS with 2 or 3 CFL's (150w-200w) in each box.

Fans - We are in the process of installing 2 fans in the mother plants box, one for exhaust and one for circulating and bringing in new air. As well as 2-4 fans in the smaller box. We are waiting to se how the temperature is going to be with all the lights until we get an exact number of fans installed.

Last night we were doing some repairs and going over everything. And we found a little seed :leaf:
I was sure i got them all when I germinated her sisters. But we will finish the setup and germinate her tonight. We got an awesome deal today on some mylar.& picked up the rest of the wood we need. We also put out the money order for the seeds so they should be on their way anyday :D

I will post the pictures of the seedling and the setup when we get finished.

The Experiment - New Game Plan

We have an entirely new game plan. We have ordered some seeds after finding a suitable seed bank thanks to fellow user 'keifcake' lol. We are using The Attitude Seed Bank. & have ordered 2010 Cannabis Cup winner Barney's Farm Tangerine Dream. As well as Sativa Seeds' Blackjack and Rasberry Cough. The Attitude has also included some free-bee's they're all Dinafem seeds UFO#1 Blue Hash, UFO#2 California Hash Plant, & UFO#3 Powerkush. If anyone has any experiences with any of these strains please share.

Tangerine Dream

At first we're only going to germinate one of the Tangerine Dream. They were the most expensive seeds out of the lot, and the only feminized ones we ordered. We're only germinating one of them because we plan to clone her and then bud her and smoke her :weed: We also plan to grow her a little faster than the rest of the seeds. With the rest of the seeds from this strain we plan to try our hand at cross gendering and making our own strain, and our own seeds. They will be the base for this little project.

Rasberry Cough

With these seeds we plan to germinate at least 4 of them. We are then going to have a seperate PC grow box going to sex them in (so they don't have any chance of accidentally pollenating anything we don't need them to). Once we determine the males from the females we will put the females back into the vegitation stage and let them continue growing. We will leave the males in the PC grow box until they 'bud' and we can collect our pollen and freeze it for our cross gendering. When the females are 3 weeks before flowering we will clone them and start the cycle of life over again.

Blackjack

[My personal pick (besides the Tangerine Dream lol).] We plan to do the same with these as we plan to do with the Rasberry Cough.

The remaining seeds we will have to fall back on for whatever reason. With the first set of clones we get from the mother plants we plan to grow for ourselves. With the mother plants we will bud them and smoke them for a first taste when we're happy with the clones she has given us and the size she is.

Our setup will also be improved before we germinate anything. We are completly rebuilding everything. We will have two compartments one tall slimer one for the mother plants. And another one for the seedlings and clones. As well as a completly seperate PC grow box that we will use for males and cross gendering and can remove from the room if need be. I'll post pics once we're done the build on these.

If anyone has any tips or anything on cross gendering we're open to them.

The Experiment Has Come To A Setback

This morning I woke up, in a great mood let me add. Only to find to my shocking surprise that my lovely dog had take it upon himself to have a midnight snack :shock:

So needless to say, I have no more plants. He ate them, roots and all. It seriously looked like the plants uprooted and walked away themselves :wall: Of course i went through all the emotions I have right then and there lol.

I love my dog but what a little fucker. So we have asked friend to set us up with some clippings from his crop. And he is going to root them for us tonight. That will take up to two weeks. In the mean time we are going to shop around for some more seeds. If anyone knows any good seed banks or any place else to get seeds in Ontario, please let me know.

The Experiment Up To Date

I was thinking this morning that I'm not exactly sure the birth date of our plants. But however I do have a good idea of how old the are. That being said, our newest editions, the seedlings in the peat moss. Haven't done a thing. And are toast. But thats alright, Maeve, Rauri, and Luma are going strong.

Luma

this is the first ever taken pic of Luma.
You can semi-sorta see her blue tinge. She has yet to fully see the
world in this picture,she looks like she has a hat on ;)

this picture was taken on Feb 28th. over night
she popped her cap off and showed her beautiful leaves.

this was Luma just yesterday, March 6.
You can see how her primary leaves are tinged blue from the food coloring mixture.
&& that she has opened up quite a bit.

Maeve&Rauri

this picture is to show how Maeve was slightly taller and fuller than Rauri...

Maeve now.
Rauri is HUGE now compared to her sister! these pictures were taken yesterday.

Note on the pictures the green twist ties are because we are going to start the bonsai effect on them. We also have more lights to hook up tonight, we're only currently using fluorescents. It is a low budget grow, and we don't plan to flower them under the fluorescents so we're good for now.

The Experiment - Reinforcement

If you look at my pics you'll see our little indoor setup. It's nothing special just enough for what we're looking to do. And as I said before, we're just playing it as the game goes.

But what our setup is made of, an old computer desk I've had for years, isn't very, sturdy. So we're going to reinforce it with some 2x2's and put doors on it. As well as make it two separate parts, one for our mother plants, and the other for the clones, when the time comes. The desk itself is approx. 4ft long by 1-2ft wide&tall. We wanted something that's not monstrous and that we can easily pick up and move.

Right now for deflection of our lights in our setup we have heavy duty white plastic bags, that have a grey/silver inside. So needless to say, light only seeps out through seems which aren't properly closed for ventilation purposes (front only) & also so we can access our crop. We are looking at getting some mylar for a more clean/effective result.

When we finish tonight I will take and post the pics first thing.

Let me just note that, when I first started my seedlings in germination about a month ago. I didnt expect much from them, hence, 'The Experiment'. So when the germ. process didnt take more than 2 days, I was very surprised/excited. SO, because it was spontanious that I germinated them, we didn't have anything set up for them, and we've just been playing it as the game goes.

On another subject. We have started a little project on top of The Experiment, I call her Luma. The idea of Luma is to water her with a food coloring mixture, blue food coloring to be specific. We want to see for ourselves if it changes the pigments or even just the leaves of the plant. I have read quite a few other blogs and different ways to change the colors of your plant. Some are way out there, but to each their own, this is our art project & yes i did this in public school with tulips, as did everyone. We're just interested to see what happens.
