Just over ten weeks, and harvest time!
3-4 ounces guesstimate...
I would of liked to have left her a day or two longer....but as usual things were getting a bit squeezed in there.

I'm going to stick with my indicas from here on though. She took up twice the room, without any greater yeild (one day I'll spell "yield right! lol)
Then again I may change my mind after having a smoke....

And this young lady, all dressed up to party!:hump:

I meant to put her into the flower tent this morning, but missed sundown.
She's shows all the signs of eastern promise....mmmm....:weed::weed::weed:

Peace!

It stinks to high heaven though! So I had to get off my arse and cobble this drying box togetherr. Draws air across the buds and into the flower tent, then out through the filter.:bigjoint:
Should be good for a week or two, and then a longer than usual curing...
For a 63 day veg I'm rather proud of the lack of height, must be around 6 inches. Into flower in the next week or so

Another tidy up for my Diesel
There's a good few weeks until she needs to move into flower, so plenty of time for hr to fill out some more.

Quite the nicest example of FIMing I've seen though;
Usually it's two dominant shoots, and one weaker shoot, but these three are all around the same size.
A complete stroke of chance though , nothing to do with my horticultural skills! ;)

There we are. Up to date.
Next post...harvest time! :weed:

The 2 ft x 1 ft T5 lights are great, as long as the plants are directly under them. Unfortunately my Widow and clones are scrounging what light is left, not too much of a problem for the clones, but the widow is slow...

The Caramello and Diesel are loving it under there though, and my topping and cloning (near "mainlining" really) has done loads to keep them flat and short.
I'm very much looking forward to seeing how they look in full flower...nomnomnom
I had another sativa, but it turned out to be male...which is a blessing really as there's no room in the tent as it is! :)

Nothing to add, as everything's cruising along nicely. No problems, no weird spots on leafs, no beasties flying about, no drooping greenery, no disturbing smells....

All is quiet on the western front.

At 52 days it's cutting it a bit fine, but there's 2-3 weeks left to finish, so I'm either too late, or perfectly timed.
I hope to get some seeds out of her because she's nearly twice the size of her sisters!

Making iso oil today. Here's how I do it, admittedly not the best of methods to make top quality oil, but it gets everything out..

35 grams (1 1/4 oz) of trim, then covered with 99.9% iso propyl alcohol. Leave to one side.

<img src="http://www.rollitup.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=2478375&d=1358074660&thumb=1" border="0" alt="Click image for larger version.
Whilst this soaks for 10-15 minutes, get a pan of boiling water, and put another pan inside...

<img src="http://www.rollitup.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=2478377&d=1358074971&thumb=1" border="0" alt="Click image for larger version.
Then decant your iso mixture, through a coffee filter, into your pan

<img src="http://www.rollitup.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=2478379&d=1358075207&thumb=1" border="0" alt="Click image for larger version.
Keeping the pan of water at a nice rolling boil, watch the iso evaporate away.
Maybe I should mention windows open and no naked flames!!!! This stuff will go KABOOM!!

The last drips out of the filter seem to go for an age, so I use these to clean up the edges of the bowl (you'll see what I mean if you try it)

Then, when there's a couple of teaspoons left and before it gets too thick, I pour this into my evaporation dish to finish.

<img src="http://www.rollitup.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=2478382&d=1358075704&thumb=1" border="0" alt="Click image for larger version.
A few drops of water in the oil towards the end; when the water's evaporated, then so has the iso-propyl.

And job done! All that trim quickly and cleanly harvested of it herbal goodness.
For the best quality, put your trim in filter and pour the iso through it. Even though it's only momentarily in contact with the trim, it's enough to remove a lot of the oil, but not enough to strip the plant matter. This will come out a golden yellow (oh yum yum yum!) and not the shitty black of my lazy arsed/assed way ;)

I tried bubble bags, but all the mess and water everywhere wasn't for me.
Tried butane extraction. But it cost the most, and there are debatable health issues with this method. Has to be the quickest and least hassle method though.
Sieving my trim for the hash just doesn't get enough out for me, tightwad that I am ;)
Lots of fun to be had in the laboratory with trim and chemicals!

That should keep me head warm until the Afghan Kush is ready in a couple of months ;) I have an oz or two of trim waiting to turn into oil as well, which may yield a gram or so.

Gave my Afghan Kush clones away to a friend who's just got a grow room together. Except one, which I'm going to hermie with some colloidal silver solution I made yesterday.
Got a tiny clone, and one Kandy Kush seedling in the veg room, things are looking lonely in there...until I look up and see the drying rack that is!
Hahahaaargh! Time to smoke some...peace

I bought 10 regular seeds for the first time with the Afghan Kush, which turned out to be; 1 dud seed that never sprouted, 1 male and 8 ladies!
Yup, one lonely male. Sweet.
Took so long to sex I had to take cuttings and get them into the flower tent, they were bursting out my small veg closet lol! And even then there wasn't room for them all, had to leave 2 in veg.

That's some Lemon Bud on the left, just about finished. (They're half a dozen clones I quietly spirited away when I closed down the grow ;))

The clones seem fine 2 weeks after cutting them, got some roots poking out the plugs whispering, "Oi! Can I have something on me feet please?..."
Going to sort that later, when I have access to chlorine free water.
Three AK47's. I took quite a few clones off them, so they're throwing up a load of smaller buds, which makes it a bit cramped here and a bit bare there. Only two weeks into flower when I took the photo so there is still much more filling they can do.
I don't like the tube though, it concentrates too much light into the middle of the canopy. I'm having a grow room refit soon, so I think I'll go for winged reflectors, they seemed to be more even.
More to come later...right now it's coffee time and a :joint:

..since I had some serious oil! Completely forgot I needed to cure the trim first, and it hadn't even cooled dow before I'd wiped some on a paper! lol! I must get some iso-propyl alcohol so I can give it a wash...later...I'm far too wasted...

What better bunch of flowers could there be?! Couldn't possibly guesstimate how much there is, but she sure lived up to her name!

Was quite generous in adding to the trim pile, all the buds that weren't prime have gone in as well..
<img src="http://www.rollitup.org/attachments/newbie-central/1880707d1320929125t-bong-water-p1020695.jpg" border="0" alt="Click image for larger version.
Off out now, to start buying plenty of butane without raising eyebrows (not easy in this little town) Hence the large trim pile, I've never tried extraction before, or water curing; and it's having both.
Greener!
(Edit) Yup! Just found another couple of branches hanging up, even more bud! So here is the total harvest...
Almost finished now, about a week I reckon, but feel free to remind me it's always longer than you think ;-) Too big for me now though. I'm having such a laugh going through the different strains that I'm going to go with smaller plants but more often.
And check out this classic bud formation. Spiraling up the branch beautifully. If I can manage to beg borrow (but not steal) another camera I'm going to fix it to the tent and do an 8 week time lapse, now that would be cool! Two pics a day should get me 14 seconds of footage at a quick guess...
