So a bunch of developments... But still no Hps , and not for lack of funding, merely a lack of time to purchase!*

My og clones that have been vegging since February HAD reached 3 feet. I say had, because right after battling the thrips and apparently succeeding (so far) I went away for two days and my roomy watered the flowering ones but missed a water on the veg shelf... 4 perished, the rest lost a ton of foliage, some revived after watering from the bottom of the little 4x4 pots. Obviously I could have avoided this with a transplant go larger pots but I have too many to upcan to a larger size. I topped the worst damage. Pretty hard lesson after so much veg time. Two look like they lost so much foliage, they are destined to get chopped for clones. As a result I just ordered 6 more clones, white widow and master kush.

Another lesson, if you build a Rubbermaid box, and can't deal with humidity and proper painting conditions during applying the reflective white coating inside... Don't do it. Cover the inside with black/white poly or Mylar. I have been removing cracking/chipping paint were it has separated from the black coat when the container flexes with movement or when outing top chamber on. I have painstakingly used tweezers to remove paint chips from buds and sugarleaf... Paint chips will stick right to the plant like glue. Contaminants ...yay. As I remove problem sections I cover with foil tape. After flower, these boxes will get an overhaul.*

My seedling (named science) has apparently been topped by the thrip damage, is only 3 inches tall with tiny *fan leaves buds poking out all over, a couple fan leaves even sprouted under the cotelydons !!! Its looking pretty deformed but as this is the only seed I have ever found that was viable in the seven years I've been smoking this unique strain... I'm not culling it. I hope it survives.*

My Indica dominant og kush seedling is doing well now at 5 nodes, topping for 4 colas *when it hits 7-8.*

I have also managed to drop a dc adapter again and broke another top off in the 2000... It's only a couple weeks premature so it went into cure and looks amazing. I'm curing in a paper bag. Tried on my screen last time, will see how this works.*

Would rather I only used a 400w but wanna maximize. Off to a friends aunts hydro store Next week so a little time to research before I go shopping.
The ladies in the 2000 will probably be saved by the jump to hps, otherwise yield would be prob disappointing after recent moisture stress tragedy. I plan on flowering as many as I can in this closet so I need to make the hps movable a bit. I am still gonna leave the veg shelf in, perhaps a few plants up higher Under smaller hps or mh. Torn between going to the local industrial area for ballast and bulb or just using my buddies aunts store with a hefty discount. Decisions!!!

"I'm only gonna use compact fluorescents, in some rubbermaids. Not like I'm going to cut a hole in the wall or anything..."

Well after 10 weeks building and perfecting rubbermaids, I took the next big step in eliminating at least one of them. I used a friends dremel and cut the exhaust hole near the ceiling of the closet to the living room. Goddamn was that loud and a ridiculous amount of dust. My place will be dusty for weeks to come. Curses. The chisel was quieter and less mess. Though not nearly as quick as the dremel, but even after measuring (while considerably medicated) the hole on the inside of the closet was offset from the living room hole. Fuck my life. So I just happened to pick up some quality metal flex ducting and used that threaded through to the living room instead of the snap lock duct pipe I used for intake.
Get this though, I had all plants and chronmasters out of the closet so I could do this job, well the dremel was so loud, and I didn't want to do it while landlord was in so I did it at 8pm and my neighbor came down right as I finished to complain about noise cause she was sick and trying to rest, right then the cedar wood I cut through with dremel basically was smokey from the cuts and set off the fire alarm. Jesus. So I stop alarm, apologize to neighbor and say I have a micro workshop, I am a hobbyist and usually don't work on stuff with Any power tools so late, I just had a deadline for a craft show I was going to tomorrow. She said no problem I said I'd be silent the rest of the night and so I was. Close call. Regardless of permit, I don't want neighbors knowing lol that's why cutting sketched me. Luckily no more cuts. Just chains for hps fixture and the new airking 70cfm 120volt 30watt bathroom fan I got for the closets exhaust. It will be more than adequate for that space for a hps and it's only 1.5 sones, very quiet and super easy to install, ran me $45 at home depot. Pics coming soon. I used the daptex spray insulating foam again around the duct, between it and the the wall. Tomorrow I will seal up with the foil tape and install the fan mount. I may get some kind of foam to put between fan and wall to keep vibration transfer to a minimum. The airking is high impact molded plastic not metal welds so it should remain quiet. I don't want new fan noises under their floorboards to be noticeable. I am using artistic camoflauge for the vent covering. It's epic. And fitting. I go buy black and white poly paper to line closet Wednesday. Then I go hps shopping.

Well I messed up royally by burning the candle at both ends and missing a watering, was too tired after working two double shifts to wake up in time to water the ladies in the 2000. Damn near killed two, foliage in rough shape, lost a bit, the ones that did survive are nitrogen deficient now from starving, so I quickly mixed up a foliar feed from my 10-10-10 and watered the pots immediately when lights on today, they are recovering but I am very certain I have hurt my yield by a significant amount by the damage to the foliage. Not a good move at week 5. I've enlisted help for nights I work doubles so this never happens again. So choked. Big screwup, but only myself to blame for that one. Lesson is... Water on their schedule, not yours" lol or "less kill, more grow". more not kill please. In other words, more don't,a healthy serving of more don't. Don'ting. More don'ting of unwatering badness.

So after tackling the first hole in my living room to my closet (by painstakingly removing 1x2" cedar the stucco was attached to with a wood chisel and NO hammer to make the cuts) I installed the ducting and for now, made a fan shroud out of a ps3 warhawk cardboard box and alot of foil tape and a fab template.I then foil taped another antec tricool 120mm fan to it. I attached dryer ducting from duct i inserted through wall and then foil taped to the back of the fan shroud, now drawing air from my living room into my closet and blowing onto my veg shelf. I merely foil taped the fanbox to the veg shelf. Tomorrow I use my friends dremel and cut the exhaust duct hole and get ready to mount a air king bathroom fan for exhaust.

I'm hoping this paves the way heat wise at least for a hps or cmh bulb in the closet.

"inconceivable !"

Lots of photos, no opportunity to post yet!

More supplies, more advances And MIA beans!

So this week I picked up a drywall saw, wood chisel, can of spray insulation, more fixture chains, 4" aluminum snap-lock ducting, wooden stakes and more velcro.

Current costs $2500 plus...

So the great ventilation project has begun, I have cut a 4" hole in my closet wall and living room wall, first the stucco then thru 2 pieces of 1"x2" wood under the stucco... What an old building!!! First hole wasn't bad, closet side was super noisy and my paranoia got me to skip the drywall saw and use the chisel, lucky the wood was cedar and pretty easy to mangle apart with a little chisel abuse. I basically had to gouge and pry with the corners... But don't want any neighbors to guess what's happening or come knocking so the hard way it was. I finished, vaccuumed and slid the exhaust into the hole and used some foil tape to clean the stucco edges up, then wiped er down and used the spray insulation foam to seal the hole. I'm gonna let it cure 24 hours then cover with more foil tape. Next week I will repeat the process higher up for the second duct. I'm hoping this paves the way for an hps installation. Im hoping the ladies in 2000 can find their way under an hps for final 2 weeks of flower. I plan on using a air king bathroom fan for exhaust with a DIY carbon filter (pouch type) over the fan intake. Any suggestions for a quiet intake fake is welcome! I may just use another Pc fan ...

I planned on germing my auto ak47 x auto hindu kush and my "science" bagseed, but I have misplaced the auto seeds!!! Arrgh! Curse my memory.

Learning curve was big this week , again thanks to uncle Ben and his wonderful botany threads this time specifically :http://www.rollitup.org/advanced-mar...inters-43.html this thread helped me immensely and I wish I had read it prior to buying the hydrofuel nutes. I have since been working out my own condition from the best of the hydrofuel stuff I have without ridiculous "p" and adding my cheapo 10-10-10 to try and hit the values I want. Already noticed a little more foliage retention. Must be on the right track :)

I have run out of height in both boxes... The stretch is over for the 2000 so I think I can tie them for the duration now and be ok, but the 3000 is only 2 weeks into flower and more stretch to go so I think I may be using the closet to finish those ones sooner than later! Was hard to find a place to tie down the ladies to the stakes with so many budsites already!!! I also had a tragic tie down ... Broke a top off of one in the 3000, good thing they all have 4 or more tops! Cloned the broken top lol 8 clones I've made now! All others have rooted successfully.

So good, it's proven by science lol ... Well yesterday I found 2 seeds that look viable, I know the grower breeds so I'm hopeful it may not be a hermie, I have found occasional seeds previously but never kept them until a month ago. None were viable but these look good to go. So fricking excited. I already know what the strain can do, so if they pop... The rest is up to me and the plant :)

Today I got 2 x 26w reptiglo 10.0 UVB cfls ! Pricey at $25 with tax each but hoping to get a thc boost from them. Will add one to veg area later too. I have tried to remove as many 23w bulbs from the Chronmasters as possible. Currently at 8 x 42w (6 x 2700k & 2 at 6500k) Will be putting on fixture And splitter with the reptiglo and a 23w 2700k. Thats 385W . The 3000 has 5 x 42W (4 x 2700k, 1 x 6500k) and another 4x 23W. Repitglo and a 2700k 23w will also go in. I will replace 23W with 42w asap. I think 385W per Rubbermaid is all I can do for heat/energy usuage. Thats 770W for rubbermaids, 285 for veg area... Apparently I'm up to over 1000w! Lol oops. So much for starting small. Any canuck cfl growers out lemme know how it's gone for you!!

So veg station/clone station has been moved to the top shelf. I sunk an anchor in the wall both sides and suspended a chain for the fixtures across the width of the shelf and modified a coat hanger to support and extend the 95w mogul socket beast to extend off the back of the closet wall hanging vertical above the veg area for now. This is temporary as I want the big cfl horizontal eventually. I lined the walls temporarily (and sloppily I might add) and put Mylar over the fixture chains. Putting a small fan in tomorrow. Will be cutting a ventillation hole from closet to living room possibly tommorow. Once I moved the veg area up top, I knocked out the shelf below that had the fixtures fastened to it. Re-lined with plastic and stapled down.

Now both Chronmasters sit side by side in the closet. I plan on relining veg are with black/white poly instead of Mylar. Not a big fan of Mylar. Seems to retain alot of odor.

"I'm afraid you will find this Chronmaster fully operational."

The 3000 is up and running. I have one last fan box to completey tape up, but it is lightproof and assembled. I put every damn bulb I could in without taking away from my veg
Zone wattage (no I didn't take all 6500k's just a few for mixed spectrum). I literally worked all night after work sunday until the next morning to finish. Temps look good so far, only one carbon filter on it for now tho.

I put the 5 og kush in 2gallon pots that have been vegging for 4 weeks since I got the 12" clones... They are poking through top chamber already lol might need another chamber by the end haha

Major error next morning tho, didn't check height when they woke up as I was working and they grew alot, so much in fact I have toasted the poor buggers a little. Better on day 1 then day 60... Lesson learned. Check and secure fixtures daily....

When I finish the last fan box I will be moving my veg area to the top shelf in my closet, about 4 feet of height, plenty of room for cfl fixtures and momma plants. Will separate clones/seedlings from main veg when I get the time to go shopping. Both Chronmasters will be side by side with veg area above the one . Haven't figured out how I will hang the 92w monster light with the bloody mogul socket. It's a beast. Was using it vertical but obviously horizontal would be better. Still gonna cut a ventilation hole from closet wall into living room too.

Updates.... So I have been far too busy with construction to post pics yet... Wish mobile uploads could be done. I have taken pics so hopefully up soon.*

The rain has not stopped out here, finishing the 3000 took way longer than anticipated, last nite I resorted to spraying in a parkade under a building where I know the security guys so I could finish the damn thing.*

I've had the clones that I haven't transplanted vegging with the 5 transplanted ladies in my closet in a temporary Mylar Tent. I have about 440 watts cfl vegging them. The 5 were supposed to go into flower a week and a half ago, but thx to rain and a busy schedule, they are almost all 2 feet tall now, with the exception of one that was topped due to some accidental supercropping, Aka I had an unfortunate lst incident removing the tie down and snapping the main stem like a foolio.*

I made 4 new clones from some of the leggy untransplanted clones. 2 look good but 2 are iffy.

The 5 in flower are at day 11, have just surpassed top of bottom chamber. I burnt a few spots 2 weeks ago, fixture failure... Rule number 1.... Secure your fixtures!!!!*

1 week ago I let all the ladies free of aggressive Lst, they had been 10 days tied with all new growth tied off... I'm not sure I would do so much lst on the next batch, after spending lots of time on it, and a thorough(!!!) read of Uncle Ben's topping method and Mblazes fimm'ing threads, I've decided I like uncle Ben's approach and threw alot of crap I thought I'd learned into the "research and development" pile after understanding botany alot better.*
Along the way I've trimmed fan leaves and I certainly won't be doing much of that unless necessary anymore. I even did some trimming 2 days prior to the first 5 entering flower... Oops. I should have read that thread earlier, would have helped me immensely with my approach... Not saying the fim's I did didnt work Because 2 certainly did, but i like the simplicity and the science behind the method. *I've now topped two of the clones not transplanted due to the stretch being too big too quick... I wanna slow the growth a bit. That's the cuttings I made into clones.*
I plan on topping all these now but they are mostly alternating nodes still and I'm trying to get em back to opposing, a few are already so chop chop soon. To those that haven't read uncle Ben's or Mblazes threads...do so!! *Much thanks to both for their knowledge.*

As soon as I finish my 3000 this week I will germinate my 3 auto-hindukush x *auto-ak47 seeds. I'm hoping to get a male... Weird I know, but I want to breed the little guys as you cannot buy these seeds where I live and I sure as hell don't want to be buying auto seeds all the time. *Thats stage 2 lol*
