MsBBB First Time
My babies are a month old today and were starting to need more and more water so I replanted them into larger containers. I think that I may have made a major mistake with my Shiva Shanti #1 by crushing her while working to get her out of the old container (a 12 ounce styrofoam cup). One side of her 3rd set of leaves got broken and a new tenderling broke off completely. The thing is, I don't know where it came from. My other two babies Shiva Shanti #2 and AK-48 seems to have made the transition with no major injuries.
I also expanded my grow room to accomodate the larger pots (1 1/2-2 gallon size). I am now in approximately a 24" x 24" space with three 100 watt CFLs, one white LED, and one Blue and Red LED. I took into consideration many of the comments regarding soil mixes, but I had to go with what I had on hand: Miracle Gro Potting Mix (2 parts), Pearlite (1 part), and Sand (1 part).
I checked on my girls several hours after re-potting, and with the larger containers the humidity seems higher, I hung another small fan and moved the other one to the floor area to draw air down and hopefully out of the grow area.
I never thought that I could raise such nice looking babies to this point. ![]()
Update 01/10/2011 - I noticed 7 fingers on my girls this morning, from 3 to 5 to 7![]()
