I hear ya on the over spending. I'll try and get you a pic of the light i have set up at many a grows. It involves a case of beer (bonus), a 12' xmas light extension cord with outlets on either side, 2 outlet to light socket fixtures, and two y adapters for sockets. I cut the case to make a simple reflector(i'll really need to get a pic) then dangle the light by its own cord, utilizing 4 cfl's. You can use any wattage you want. I go with the 24w equivalent to 100. Never let down
