Reserva Privada OG Kush from fem seeds
Since rollitup went down and lost a bunch of my journal posts I got out of the habit of posting, so here's a quick rundown of what's been happening. The DWC system took a bit of a learning curve. More specifically, I underestimated how much more effective the nutes would be in DWC verses an ebb/flow setup. My plants suffered serious nute burn before I managed to adjust things. Several didn't make it, but the ones that recovered grew quite large during the extra time. I'm ...

The delays are over and the new system is online. We've got a 1kw HPS light being cooled by a Hydrogen 8" Ice Box and car radiator mounted on a window AC unit. The AC unit keeps the radiator at 60F which cools the water passing through it. It's then carried through the Ice Box by a 2245 GPH water pump where a 720CFM fan blows air over the cooling fins and up through the sealed hood. The ambient temperature around the plants is just under 80F. ...
Things got delayed, but the new deep water culture (DWC) system is finally up and running. For anyone who might not be familiar with DWC, Deep water culture hydroponics works by suspending your plant roots into a nutrient solution that is heavily oxygenated with air stones. In my case, I have several air stones in the reservoir and a pump circulates the water through a series of buckets where the plants are suspended. I'm hoping the air stones in the reservoir will be sufficient, ...

More new leaves appearing every day. While they're staying pretty short the stems aren't yet standing up very straight. I have an oscillating fan going so hopefully the breeze will help strengthen the stems so I don't have to prop them up. One of them does have browning on the tips and a spot on one leaf that concerns me a bit. I'm not sure why this one is having trouble while the other five are fine, but if one of the others starts showing similar signs ...
Just a little over two weeks since planting and we're seeing some nice green foliage. I held back on the nutes not wanting to over-mother, but now that the leaf tips are starting to lose a little color I've added ~130 PPM of FloroGro. They're currently on an 18 hour light cycle with a 15 minute flood every two hours during daylight. I also noticed I can smell them when I first enter the room. Wont be long before I ...
