it doesnt matter with autos. they have a set life as soon as they pop. that is the whole idea with autos, they automatically bloom, no light changes will change that.

If you lower the light hours it may shorten the autos already short life and hurt yield, not help it.

How far along are you? If you're at say...week 8 or so and you haven't seen any signs of sex I would turn it to 12/12. Sometimes you just get bad genetics and they don't act the way they are supposed to. With a normal auto though 12/12 won't help it anymore than 18/6 and will actually hurt your yield. More light=more growth for autos. Personally I go 20/4 like most breeders recommend.

I am at week 3.5 almost week 4 of Dutch passion Auto berry. They have started to show there sex both female and both have probably doubled in size in the last week, roughly 10 to 12 inches tall now. I have changed the lights around (was running 3 x 24w 6500 cfls and 1 x 24w 2700 cfl) now 3 x 24w 2700 and 1 24w 6500.

Oh you're fine then. The plants still have 5-7 weeks left(to harvest). Week 3-4 is the beginning of flowering. Auto's life-cycle

If the plants are actually flowering, leave them on 18-6.

More light during flowering should lead to higher yields with autoflower plants. In fact, some people like 20-4 for their autos, and that can work too.

The main reason to go 12-12 with "autoflowers" is if they don't, in fact, actually flower automatically.

Autos will flower once mature, no matter the light. Leave the lights on as much as possible, that will help your yields.
