didn't quite have enough perlite, so i put a fair heap more on the bottom, and a good amount around the feedrings, see how it goes, it shouldn't make much difference, it might help actually i'm thinking because of cold winter weather the hydroton drain faster, so it will hold slightly less water, see how it goes, i'll watch carefully. the hydroton also helps hold down my feedring because the rubber feed hose is a bit heavier, i didn't want to risk it coming out
