What is your Utility bill looking like?

yeah my bill just went from 275.00 to 440.00

1 dehu
2 duct fans
3 oscilating

veg = 400 watts and 1 small fan

power bills suck

Mine is $275.00. I ditched the AC and run things at night.

Didn't notice this is in Arizona forum. My bill's in Colorado.

This is for a 4k grow that I use just for myself and my patients. This most recent bill is looking rediculous and I can't figure out why. Its literally doubled in the past month. Never seen a bill like this for a grow this small.

Lights all come on at 9pm.

If you are on a standard plan with APS you are likely experiencing the Summer rates instead of the Winter rates!!

Standard plan in winter is .09 cents per KwH
Standard plan in Summer changes to usage in tiers!!

No way in hell that equipment runs your bill that high!! Unless you are running them ON 24/7 but still then you would not be that high!!

You must have a pool or jacuzzi!! Or some other power whore... Even a laptop plugged in wastes power!! Water heater wastes power(timer fixes this) Too much stuff to consider!!

Even regular bulbs waste electricity! The heat they put off makes the room hotter causing the A/C to work harder!! CFLs in the house!! Not for growing!! Every little thing makes a difference! Even taking shorter showers helps!!

Lights on after dark is the best alternative to high electricity!! Run A/C at 83 in day with lights off!! At lights on run 75 on the A/C... Seems to help!!

I need to get some sort of timer for the damn central air or something. id like to kick it to 81 during the day but im not there everyday. it's an office.

I've noticed a hike in my bill also, from about 150$ originally to 250-300$ and nothing has changed. I checked Consumer Energy's website and "summer rates are in effect", because of the amount of people running A/C they almost doubled the rate for anything above 600 kwh.

ok if your useing 4k that is 4kwh every houre are u on 12/12 i veg under shop light and flower under my 1k hps it cost me on 12/12 35$ a month for the light just add 4kwh to how long you have been useing for example 4x12= 48 kwh a day 48 x 31=1448kwh a month 1448x .09 = 133.92$ a month for the light running 12/12 not including the ac if you vegging with them light you can expect almost doubble that.

I'm on APS equalizer plan.. If you mofos have good credit and pay your bills on time you might be able to get on it. Basically they take your average and set it as your monthly payment. I did this shit way before I started growing. So my bill was always like 280 a month running 1k, house hold stuff, and 11k gallon pool with two pump motors, now with my addition of another 1k light ( now running 2k) it went up to about 340 dollars. http://www-s.aps.com/main/services/r...ptions_28.html

That is about average man. Especially for the summers. My bill was always in the $500-600 range with 4k watts. But that is because you are constantly running that AC. If you can seal the room with some good insulation and only utilize the AC when the lights come on and maybe a few hours in the peak of the Hot day, your bills should drop $50-150 depending on your AC.

Each light should only be about $50-100 per light depending on your utility company. Summers just suck in the desert, that is why you increase productivity in the fall and winter months. We have a perfect climate during those months IMO.
