Really this is an issue you should discuss with a REAL hvac technician and have him analyze your current situation, however I am just offering you my derived knowledge of the subject matter so far. But, it's the adding or subtracting of air from the room that causes the changes in atmosphere, I have a feeling your main house isn't causing that much positive pressure, but possibly a tiny amount. Co2 molecules are very tiny and will find holes if pushed to do so. That being said your method isn't so bad as long as the main house a/c doesn't cycle on too much and you don't seem to be going to the refill station too much

oh come on my neighbor hood average is 350 so its not to bad to me. ac all day im not gonna sweat in my house., my neighbors with kids have a bill just as high as mine so i don't think its that crazy.
