    Ok you said everything included...

I dont know if I have a legitimate reason to become Medical... and for sure not one thats been doucumented cuz never went to the doctor ever less it was real serious...
but i want to be legal and think it should be legal for everyone... so whats the best chance for me to get away with convincing a doctor that this would be the best treatment for me... or i hear about it everywhere else there being docs that just wont the $200 dollor visit fee dont care if you have a legit reason or not... i dont know if this might rub some people the wrong way but im gonna grow regardless and id like to be able to grow legally..

    Delux,
Of course I cant suggest you put a doctor on the line for your cannabis wants, that would simply be wrong pal, but so too is the criminal aspect of cannabis law to begin with. I suggest you become committed to your favorite hobby and pass time by making an effort to help get things changed. There is something that each and everyone of us can do to help and there is strength in numbers. Here is where we can network and get things rolling. I also would suggest you become a caregiver. There are folks who need good growers to help them. There are increasing numbers of people who simply have no knowledge on growing cannabis and need medication, not an education in botany. The numbers of people are only going to increase and during that time, you can be getting yours while helping someone else; Legally smoking under an ounce in your home as an Alaskan resident, potected under Ravin Vs State of Alaska (case law), the same as we the sick are allowed.

from what i have read you can also have up to 25 plants in your home

Possession of less than 25 plants is protected under the Alaska Constitution’s right to privacy (See Ravin v. Alaska).

thats off norml.org am i to take this to mean if i have 24 plants in my house (or more realisticly for me 4- that im protected by the alaska constitution?

Top Anti-Drug Researcher Changes His Mind, Says Legalize marijuana

    Thu, Jun 04, 2009 1:59 pm
more: headline news, drug policy news, activism news

For 30 years, Donald Tashkin has studied the effects of marijuana on lung function. His work has been funded by the vehemently anti-marijuana National Institute on Drug Abuse, which has long sought to demonstrate that marijuana causes lung cancer. After 3 decades of anti-drug research, here's what Tashkin has to say about marijuana laws:
"Early on, when our research appeared as if there would be a negative impact on lung health, I was opposed to legalization because I thought it would lead to increased use and that would lead to increased health effects," Tashkin says. "But at this point, I'd be in favor of legalization. I wouldn't encourage anybody to smoke any substances. But I don't think it should be stigmatized as an illegal substance. Tobacco smoking causes far more harm. And in terms of an intoxicant, alcohol causes far more harm." [McClatchy]
We've been told a thousand times that marijuana destroys your lungs, that it's 5 times worse than cigarettes, and on and on. Yet here is Donald Tashkin, literally the top expert in the world when it comes to marijuana and lung health, telling us it's time to legalize marijuana. His views are shaped not by ideology, but rather by the 30 years he spent studying the issue. He didn't expect the science to come out in favor of marijuana, but that's what happened and he's willing to admit it.

Here's the study that really turned things around:
UCLA's Tashkin studied heavy marijuana smokers to determine whether the use led to increased risk of lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD. He hypothesized that there would be a definitive link between cancer and marijuana smoking, but the results proved otherwise.
"What we found instead was no association and even a suggestion of some protective effect," says Tashkin, whose research was the largest case-control study ever conducted.
Prejudice against marijuana and smoking in general runs so deep for many people that it just seems inconceivable that marijuana could actually reduce the risk of lung cancer. But that's what the data shows and it not only demolishes a major tenet of popular anti-pot propaganda, but also points towards a potentially groundbreaking opportunity to develop cancer cures through marijuana research.

Over and over again, all the bad things we've been told about marijuana are revealed to be not only false, but often the precise opposite of the truth. So the next time someone tells you that marijuana is worse for your lungs than cigarettes, you might want to mention that the world's leading expert on that subject happens to be a supporter of legalization.

Delux, the laws have changed since that was in place. Our current status is EVERYONE is limited to an ounce. There is no mention of plant numbers. Never the less, GRAY laws rarely protect you.

I will be traveling the state next week. I hope to get the ball rolling on a few things and talk with folks in Anchorage about a proposed med cannabis event. I would also like to see the organization of a "Smoke Out" some time this year to help raise awareness of Alaska's medical marijuana laws and the changes needed, and hope to get this idea out on the table. If anyone here would like to help by joining us, post before May 18th. Ill contact you ASAP.

love to be part of the show, but like a lot of smokers, the oportunities for legal and social back blow are really seriously problematic. That said, I'd be glad to help anonymously.
