    Exclamation Aerogarden, Round 2

I've learned so much since and during my first grow. Thanks to everyone on this site. I'm in the middle of my second grow and I'd like to share with you some pictures and info... I only wish that I took pictures from when it first sprouted up and the following weeks. This thing has been and is a CHAMP! And I think I just have seen the first female flower!!! JOY!!! lol. It will be the first pic below along with some other nice pics I've taken...

I've got pics of a Misty seed from nirvana growing in the aerogarden. it is just over 5 weeks from dropping the seed in the aerogarden, it took almost a week to sprout up and started flowering 3 weeks from popping the seed in, but you shoulda seen it at 3 weeks, I wish I took a pic then....I think this is the best looking plant I've ever seen in vegitative stage, 2 weeks into flowering....dont know if its male or female yet....

    Peace
    -Tek

Tek you are the man. Because of you and reading your first thread on the aero I went right out and purchased that sucker. too bad it was soldout everywhere then.

I just started my own experiment 3 weeks ago...and will post pics soon. Even at 3 weeks my plants looks no where NEAR what yours does.

I don't know how you do it.

anyway congras on creating a movement. !!!

ps: on the first pic....what and why did you circle that thing in red?

You guys are both my heroes. You have both inspired me to buy one and start trying to grow the finest herb on the East Coast. what kind of nutrients do you use? and how much are they?

Seven...What I circled is what I believe to be a very very young female flower...look closely, you can see 2 tiny hairs, coming out of the calyx...

Fortune...I'm using the fox farm line of nutes which includes 6 different bottles of nutes. All together the nutes will run you 100-150 bucks...

Thank you both for your compliments and good luck to you!

    Peace

Tek does that mean you already started flowering already? opps I just reread your post and you did. So would you recommend flowering at 3 weeks right away? or should you wait for 4/5 weeks

Tek...how do you flush your system and/or do a reservior change? Do you pull out the plant? or just dump the water with the plant in it and then just fill it back up with water?

Fortune like Tek i'm using foxfarm.

I made a big mistake reading the scheduling for the nutes (from their website). I brought only first 3 bottles and i didn't realize i was suppose to mix biggrow and big bloom together. I been using just biggrow and Make sure to get an PH meter. I burnt my little plant and stunt its growth just because I thought i didn't need it as long as I follow the extact amount from the chart.

    consider it lesson learnt.

With the aerogarden, I would flower at as least as 3 weeks from dropping the seed in. It may be possible to go as early as only 2 weeks from dropping the seed in. But I wouldn't wait any more than 4, 5 weeks at the most. This is mainly due to the fact of keeping the plant as small as possible. As you can see I only have 1 plant in here now and its taking over.

What I do when adding nutes is this.....(assuming the resivoir has already been filled with a gallon of water and nutes and its been one week like this...Time for new nutes) I take an iced tea pitcher that has markings for different measurments of liquid, up to a gallon, and fill it up with cold-lukewarm water. I then take a big pot and pour in some water and add 1 nute, fill with some more water and add the next nute, more water, next nute, and the rest of the gallon of water and any other nutes. Stir it up check ph, make adjustments if needed, stir check ph again... I then lift the resivoir up and out of the base and place near the pot of nute water....open the resivoir door and lift the grow surface up from the resivoir bowl and rest it on top of the pot with the roots dangling in the nute water...Pour out the contents of the resivoir, (rinse out and wipe out if you feel neccessary, should be done once or twice throughout the grow)...Then I place the grow surface back onto the empty resivoir, being careful not to damage the roots...and pour the new nute water into the resivoir...Then place back onto the base of the aerogarden and your good to go...

For the first few weeks you should use about half the recommended amount of nutes, then you can build up to more...be very carful not to use too much nutes, its very easy to do, less is better, and keep a good ph...

    Peace

Thanks Tek...today is week 3 for me so i have to change the resv.

What do you think of covering the whole grow surface with foil sheet. I had it done for 1 week now...not sure if its even worth itand how can you tell anyway...

I have only one plant as well since all the other seeds were duds.
once i figure this all out...time to buy the good stuff.

Stick with the one plant for now and hope for a female....there is a pretty good thread I just read today, posted by video man, it's about how to make the chances better for a female... http://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/8152-connection-between-24hr-lights-males.html ...Anyways I dont see how the foil could hurt so I would leave it, sounds like a good idea to me, although I heard once to use the shiny side down because it creates heat spots, but I dont know for sure, you could try to find somthing more reflective like mylar....You can tell by the new growth that will appear from the corners of where the leaf stem meets the main stem...

after this week (#3) i'm gonna have to find a dark room somewhere to flower.
I just hope I get a female. i have been keeping it 18/6 since the beginning.

just finish with the resv change!!! Its is so much faster when you don't mix the nutes in while the aero is running. yea yea i know...thats how some of my leaves got burnt up.

TEK, I can't thank you enough for your help and input.

one more question...how was the smoke compare to others from your first batch...same?
