Default My budding is trying to talk me into going hydro

I need info on EBB Flow setups, thinking about maybe 2 2' x 4' or bigger trays, one for my tent and one for my T5's stand,he is thinking $300 or less for two trays, reservoirs, pumps, drains, I say on line you can get the tray with stand and reservoir, pump, timer, not sure what a good price is, on some thing like that.

I'm growing in soiless mix, he thought it would be easier for me to go hydro, he has a similar set up, that I say it in operation, just wanted some other opinions on going hydro, and different EBB Flow setups

get a cheap 4 port air pump like $40, some air stones like $2 each, 5 gallon net pot lids $5 each or so maybe, and some 5 gallon buckets $3 or so, plus some newts and you can have a hydo setup for under a $100, great easy setup to use, ive done ebb & flow but i think DWC is the easiest with the best results for me.

quick youtube search brought up this guy who goes over it and is funny to listen to...ruuutes ! lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUr67...4&feature=plcp

KGB: Are you ready? Things are going to happen real fast in hydro so you really need to know what the hell you're doing or you're likely in for a lot of disappointment. If you haven't got a lot of experience then I suggest you RTFB. Hank

Check craigslist for the trays. Shipping is expensive for things that big.

And the stands are way overpriced. Build one out of PVC or 2x4s and save yourself some money

I have been growing for a little while, I started growing outside, then I built a greenhouse, then I built pc case grow box, then a 2' x 2' x 2' grow box with 10 Cfl's in it, then I built my own F54 T5 HO fixture, then bought a F54 T5 Ho fixture, and built a pvc T5 stand, so now I use a heat mat and T'5 to get my plants to 18'' to 24'' tall and was putting them outside or in the greenhouse, so I bought a tent and a 1000' watt MH/HPS so now I'm stepping up and trying indoor, that's why my friend suggested hydro He says its easier to use a EBB Flow setup then to grow in soil, I don't mind having too water every other day, not dump 40 gallons a week down the drain.
