I had a thread some time ago, but kinda abandoned it & posted stuff in Trichy's wildly more popular thread, lol. I've tried a couple of dif chambers now. Both of which I wasn't all that satisfied with. I just ripped my room apart yesterday as I just finished a pretty disappointing crop. Too many things to list went wrong this time. Back to the drawing board. The nozzles I was using were .8 gph dig corp. The droplet size was great, but the mist didn't penetrate deep enough into my massive root ball. I'm gonna take a break for awhile and decide if I want to keep at this, or try to build more of a hybrid system. I know now why there aren't as many posted grows as there are people designing true aero systems. This is indeed a finicky bitch. Good luck to ya, and I'm counting on a few of you newbs to be successful. So don't screw it up.

this shit has been on my mind 24/7 lately. i have a pretty nice budget for this, and i really really want to do it right.
i think that if im going to be successful im going to have to just bite the bullet and go Air atomized, the system is so much simpler, oilless compressor,
air tank, 2 of aaa nozzles, regulator, 2 solenoids, some tubing connections, a quality timer and a bunch of other stuff i already own.

and then i have plans on how to build my chamber. im going to make it out of 2 inch Styrofoam, in a 48Lx48Wx18h cube ill slant it so i can drain to waste. and seal the corners with my putty . and then run 64 plant on top of it, in 2 inch net pots. for fertillizer im going to buy my own salts and mix them to fat mans aeroponic recipe.

Its best to walk before you run You could opt to build the hp into your 4x4 chamber and do a few runs to gain experience. You`d always have the option of upgrading to pressure fed AA later on. Pressure fed AA nozzles would incorporate all the hp hardware so nothing would be wasted. You`ll gain an extra bonus of having the hp in the chamber for backup.. in case the air compressor goes south, power outages etc.

yeah i just found out about pressure fed aa nozzles,

is a pressure fed nozzle the same as a siphon nozzle? and if i pressure feed my nutrient solution to an AA nozzle will i need less compressed air

Pressure fed can use slightly less air as they dont need air to draw liquid into the nozzle. Its not always the case and depends on the nozzle. Pressure fed have a wider range of adjustment than syphon but the two variables (air and liquid pressure) will interact unless you have an external mix nozzle.

hey so i have a C.A.P. art dne cycle timer, and its a piece of crap, no way i would trust it for 1 second aeroponic mist times.

ive been looking at this timer, but it bedazzles the shit out of me.

it has these 8 pins sticking out the back, rather than a 120volt plug, i found out i can plug it into this

but i cant find a wiring diagram online, theres one printed on top the unit, if i purchase this timer is it going to be hard to figure out how to wire it up?
i took one semester of electronics for diesel equipment, so im not completely lame, but i reallly cant remember much.

Wow, you found an old 422. I don't see why it wouldn't work. Atomizer sent me this diagram some time ago. The 120 volt power can be substituted with 12. It's super easy. I made it even simpler by using a single power source for the timer & solenoids by using jumpers on the 7 & 8 pins and the 1 & 2 pins. Like I said, super easy.

You'll wanna make sure that timer is universal voltage. The newer ones are.
