I am trying Short Rider in an AG classic. I have it in a closet with 2 extra cfls. I am starting at 12/12 to see how it turns out and because I just moved and have no connections down here in Florida.
I am hoping it finishes a little quicker.

I have 4 pods going. 1 with bagseed and 3 with short rider. the bagseed(s) and 1 sr have popped so .far.

I moved them into a closet (4wx2dx8h) from my garage because it has been getting cold at night and they slowed down. So checked temps in the room and they seem ok but when I check the temp on the surface of the grow area it was in the 90s if I shut the door but 80ish in the room itself.
I have a fan in the closet and it is moving the air around pretty good. Will the 90s grow surface temp hurt the plants even if cooler air is blown around?

The funny pod with many growths is because I dropped 2 bagseeds in and looks like I left one of the herb seeds in there too. heh The one on the right and 2 in the rear are short rider.

Thanks good luck to you too. I have the regular seeds because I was hoping my odds will be better because I may kill a few.

i think i have read as a common response "white out the reservoir" they will be cooler. Make the surface white with some material. Gotta think hard about it. Dont want to use any glues right?

I moved the extra cfls for now and it stays at a nice steady 81 with the door closed. I will try the white out with some paper or something. They will need more light than just the stock AG lights.

Ok I got some pics. Another of my SR babies has popped up over night. It is from the smallest of all the seeds. The seed was so small, I didn't think it would come alive. I am also germing the biggest seed and still no signs of life. The largest plant is bag seed and I originally started it with the AG nutes.(before I found riu) After it was born it started getting brown spots and I changed it to distilled water with proper ph. I am going to change my res today or tomorrow.

When I picked up my nutes yesterday I also grabbed a bag of Fox Farm Ocean Forest. I have a seed germing to stick in the soil and I am gonna compare to the AG grow.

lookin good so far i like growin 12/12 from seed u should check out a few of my grows i have done one big ass plant in aerogarden usin GH 3 part nutrient line and got 2 1/2 ozs off her!! i also had added 8 extra cfls 2 of them were 300watt replacments they work great ($18 at lowes) this is link to my current grow https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/270134-chitownsmoke-sourkush-grow-round-2-a.html
Thanks I will check it out.

I added my 2700k lights back and thought I had the temps good but one of my seedlings disagreed. I think it was getting too hot because after a few hours it has a couple of small brown spots. I changed my res today and ph is good and I haven't added nutes yet. SO it must be the heat.

I also started a soil grow today and I am gonna run it at 12/12 to compare to the AG.

They're sleeping now. That is as low as my ag goes. Does anyone know how to lower it more than it is?

no need to lower it anymore just make sure you have the cfls on the sides they should grow out of it ...i never had a prob with strecin in aerogarden ....:joint:

I was reading up a little bit last night on stretching. It may be because I am doing 12/12 and I was using 2 2700k bulbs along with some stress from me and the plant arguing all the time. Most people talk to their plants, I yell at mine. heh But seriously yeah it could be a few different things. I also read in a few spots to not add the cfls till they have more nodes. It also may be the plant I am using. Maybe I will try a cfl with lower wattage because the cfls ive been using appear to cook my bagseed plant. They didn't seem to harm the short rider though. Hmmmm

Ok I broke down and fed them. And I added a full spectrum cfl. I mixed up 1/4 strength and fed them about 3/4 of a gallon of it and quart of distilled water.(scared to burn the younger SR seedlings) The bag seedling is looking sick and ph is good, temp and humidity are good too. It is about 13 days old so it must be hungry because there are a few brown spots on it and some of the newer growth is kinda brownish. And the leaves seem to be drooping. I hope this brings em back.

I still have about 1/4 gallon of pHed water with nutes in it.
If I let it sit in a covered milkjug will it stay good or should I just dump it?
