Default Are Aerogarden minis even worth it?
My girlfriend is thinking of getting me an aerogarden mini for an early Christmas present because I've been bitching about wanting one. Is the mini even worth it?

I plan to get HPS lights and an airstone and all that jazz, but if it's not worth it I'll just wait, but if I can work with it I definetly want to start aerogrowing, like, now.

I use an Aerogarden Pro 100 and it's reservoir is slightly less than 1 gallon. I'm limited to 2-3 plants because the roots get so large. I usually grow only 2 plants. I don't know the size of the Mini's reservoir, but if it's less than a gallon you probably will only be able to grow 1 plant. You'll

I talked to A/G customer service about what I think you're talking about the A/G-3. It's strictly for herbs, and not our kind. You can't up grade the hood, lighting or arm/light stand as we do on the bigger six and older seven hole models. I know the A/G-3 is on a killer sale right now but if you want to grow weed have her get you the big one. It comes with the "tall" 24" arm/light stand and the more powerful three CFL's and a programmable lighting control that includes 24 hours on all the way down to 12/12 for flowering. What more can you ask? Hank

Dude - just go get this:
A 20 gallon roughneck container - with lid
an air pump with air hose & 2 stones
200 gph water pump
pvc - tee w/threads in bottom, nozzle to screw in tee w/1/2" barb, 2' of 3/4" pvc, 2 end caps
6-8 3 3/4" net pots
8 micro sprayers

you can get all pvc parts at Home Depot
get irrigation parts at bghydro.com

Minus the water pump, pvc, fittings and spray nozzles and you've got yourself a Deep Water Culture for about 40 bucks.

Figure out what you feel is good, then research. The AeroGarden is a great learning tool, but is definitely undersized. If you're gonna go mini, even smaller. Like was said before, one plant is probably gonna be your max.

Not saying the AeroGarden doesn't perform, cause it does. I yielded 5.5 oz off three plants in an AG Deluxe with four 65W CFLs.

With an eighteen gallon rubbermaid tub, you can get four plants in there and end up with some pretty decent yields.

That being said, go with what feels right. Personal experience can only add to the happiness.
