Hi all,

Just thought I'd share my little attempt with my AG. It's all experimentation and I'm not going to stress out if this fails, though I'd rather like to succeed

I planted 3 "Big Cheese" seeds into a SpaceSaver 6 AG two weeks ago. They have lived on the salad cycle, which is 16.5 hours on and 7.5 hours off. Pump always on. With this version of the AG, the pump is more like an airstone blowing bubbles into the water.

The seedlings look a little deformed, not entirely sure why. They may have been a little hot. I moved them to another part of the house and cleaned out the reservoir today and added a half of the small tablet of nutrients into it with the fresh water.

Any and all suggestions, comments appreciated

4 days later.

I gave them fresh water with a half of the small nutritabs.

Some are still looking a little yellow.

Any thoughts?

First I just want to welcome you on your journey through the AG experience.

Did you add an extra pump and airstone? It is a must, and your plants will love it!

Me personally, I don't like using the AG nutes. I would recommend ones bought from a hydro store. Alot of people here like the Fox Farm line.

Your plants look good, keep taking care of them and they'll be fine.

Just read Fox's AG guide and you'll be fine

At the moment the AG nutritabs are all I have, will try and get some from the local hydro store when cash permits.

i also use the space saver 6 i would suggest using the either herbs or vegitables setting

Well this is how they looked before I changed the reservoir again and added another half of the small nutritabs.

Dill looks fine, albeit a little yellow.

Thyme also looks fine, though there are a few small brown spots on the leaves and the one browned tip. The dying bottom leaves don't concern me, I see that as a natural demise.

Basil is the weird one, no clue what's going on there, little deformed thing.

you need to fix your pH

And with plants that small wait until there atleast 2 weeks old before using any nutes at all and when you start use 1/4, 1/2 strength work to full strength and the yellowing could also be your ph adjust it in the range of 5.5-i would say 6.5 being the highest..

actually 6.5 is WAY to high, 5.5 - 5.8

5.9 is pushing it
