Default First AG cloning attempt - suggestions?
These are 5 clones recently taken from a flowering plant in its 4th week. They were taken from low on the plants to avoid taking as much bud as possible. They were cut under water, the bottom 1-2cm scraped with a scalpel and a small split cut in the bottom before being dipped into rooting gel.

The AG pods are filled with rockwool cubes cut up to fit with a hole poked down the middle. The AG pumps are set to 6x15mins a day with 4hr spacing. There isnt an air stone in the res right now but one will be added shortly. The AG is in a small cabinet that fits nice and snug and has reflective white walls. Doors are closed to maintain humidity and heater is on in the room. They're on 24hr lighting.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I'm curious about trimming the leaves, is it a good idea? How about pump and light cycles? Anything thats a particular risk or opportunity in an AG when cloning?

Fits the AG perfectly and reflects lots of light.

I've covered the holes too

As you can see there is some flowering.

Hmm well only around 12hrs in and they're not looking good. I'll put up pics after work, but the leaves have gone limp but more concerningly some leaves have shriveled up and died already. The plants have just received some folial misting with water and I have turned the heater off, though it wasn't above 28 degrees C. I'm not hopeful they'll be alive by the time I'm home from work.

Ok well it appears the foliol watering, and turning off the climate control in the room has helped the plants. I'm unsure how/why but it would appear temperatures were substantially higher in the cupboard than outside, and though I estimated the lights would increase temperatures, I did not believe it would have been hot enough to dry the leaves in 12hrs.

I have trimmed dead leaves and removed some lower branches and new growth, before and then after the trimming;

The healthier ones;

Oh and thanks to the 30 viewers for the questions/suggstions... lol

It certainly isn't a humidity dome, but the cupboard does help maintain moisture levels. How about cling wrap wrapped around the AG?

put plastic cups over each cutting, there not gonna root just by having them in there, you need a humidity dome..........

but do what you want

Happy to give it a shot, but am curious why it's so necessary? The only other cloning I've done was a cutting left in water then put in soil and that worked (a fair bit of luck involved I guess).

its just the conditions they need to be in to root, whats why just sitting there, they shriveled up, and almost died, it should help out, then move the light a lil bit away from the cutting, not too close

Oh no they shrivelled in 12hrs as I figure the heating duct was blowing too close to the cabinet door. With the heater off it is sitting between 20-25 degrees. The cuttings are still very green and have not gone too limp. I'll put a dome over one or two of them and if they perk up then I'll add domes to the rest.
