Hey yo.

Ok this is the story.
So i started up the ol AG again. Had my lil seed germinating in the grow sponge and he finally sprouted up with his little green leaves showing. I thought "sweet i'll make a time laps" so i got out the camera and tripod in order to begin taking photos and disaster struck, the tripod fell over the camera went straight down and the lens severed the top of my plant clean off... i was left with an inch high stem and 2 leaves sitting on the AG. Saddest day of my life.

This is the experiment.
So i put the two little leaves, that were attached together by a tiny bit of stalk and lay them just inside the grow sponge as a memorial. I was feeling pretty depressed for the plant so i left the leaves there to die and wilter... what i found was quite the opposite.
The 2 little leaves, 2 leaves no stalk no anything started growing!
I took away the stalk of the plant and the leaves still started growing and have now made roots!

Now maybe i'm just crazy but i think this is the start to a new lowryder tek! By cutting the start of the stem i lopped allot of height off my plant and it is still growing!

I will keep this thread updated with the plant's success rate.

Plz don't hate on me if my idea is stupid, im just a poor noob. This is my second grow and i hope it goes ok.

The news!


Well there isn't really any news except that its growing a stalk!
And its got leaves and thats a good start....
I predict that it will grow slowly seeing as it doesn't have a tap root...Also! nutes, i'm using the normal AG ones when do you reckon i should put the first set in? Honestly i don't think it needs them yet but seeing as its been way past 2 weeks since i first germinated it i'm not really sure.

Any suggestions are good

look thru that man, how old the plants? 2 weeks? should be bigger then that, or how long has it been since they sprouted?

SICC, i have read the AG FAQ before and it was pretty helpful, but my problem is i dont know how long its been since it sprouted. I think i will just wait till it gets a little bigger.
Another problem i am having is, i'm trying to Germinate 2 other seeds in the AG and they just wont sprout and i cant work out why.
They are both Bag seeds. I put them in the grow spounge facing tap root down and they just wont germinate! So i thought i'll just use the paper towel method like last time, SAME THING! I cannot work out what i am doing wrong but none of my seeds will germ, could it be the temperature isnt right?
Any help on Germinating would be good....
btw the lil lowryder is goin awesome seems to be growing more and more every day

Wow I hope that 'lil plant makes it! I started nutes right from seed in my grow at about 1/2 strength. Maybe break a nute tab in half, dissolve it in water, and dump that in the rez. If you're past 2 weeks I doubt it'll hurt it. Don't know what your lighting situation is, but maybe add some CFLs to keep it nice n' compact.

And it sounds like you may just have some bum seeds

The paper towel method is a great way to do it. While germinating, make sure the seeds are placed somewhere warm, like on top of the fridge or cable box, or in a warm cabinet.
