Nope ... you don't have to "sacrifice" the female. Here's what to do:
Take the female into a neutral room, like the bathroom ... away from your grow. Take a small, plastic trash bag and cut a small hole into it. Now put the trash bag over the female plant, and stick one branch out of the hole you cut into the bag. Take some twist-ties and tie the bottom of the bag so that nothing can get in.
Take some pollen from the male plant by shaking over some paper ... then collect a little pollen. Don't do this around any of your other females or the one in the bathroom either. *lol*
OK, now you have a little pollen on the paper, so collect it and put it in a small container. Now, take the container into the bathroom and use a small artist brush to apply the pollen to the buds on the branch sticking through the bag. Leave the pollenated female in the bathroom for 24 hours and destroy the male ... or whatever else you were going to do with it.
Also, after the pollentation exercise, take a shower and change your clothes so you won't get pollen on your other plants.
When the 24 hours are up, use a spray bottle with plain water in it and spray the pollentated branch to be sure to get all the unused pollen off of the branch. Then, move the female back into your grow area.
i was wondering if this looks good to any of you.. considering i did buy the wrong sectrum bulbs i was considering buying this.. in the vegging package.
i could stand it upright directly infront of the aero.. would it hurt to use the soft white also?

Ive decided not to go with this and i will use the aero bulbs + 6 100w cfl's cool white bulbs for now.
Since I am one of those people who has to worry about energy costs, heat, stealth; I have been considering using a Red LED 110-130V AC Panel Grow Light 60W=900W to flower .
the grow area is small, with at most 6 plants... I want max yields without using hps. Please comment
Don't use LED lights. They are way overrated. The buds will be very wispy. Stick with cfl's or better yet, a mh for vegging and an hps for flower. If you can get a combo hid mh/hps setup, that would give you the best results. Either a 250 w or 400 w would do nicely
That's an LED grow journal I would watch if you're interested in the potential of the newest LEDs. He's using one of the 120 watt grow panels from High Tech Garden Supply.
