You can buy Soil Acidifier at any garden shop which is going to be the most effective.

You can actually also use vinegar to decrease it too but at 8.2, that is WAAAAYYYY to alkaline!

I keep mine around 6.0- 6.5

FL boy? I had the same problem. The PH down wont help for more than a day. It's the water in FL. Go to walmart and grab the gallon jugs of distilled water had a PH of 6.5 and a few drops of PH down from the pet store brought it down to 5.5. I did that and now my plants are starting to turn a nice deep green and flourishing again. I spent a good 2 weeks trying to figure out why the hell my plants were dying. I think its the phosphate from all the mines buffers the PH.

As far as the plants dying mine looked REALLY bad. Almost unsalvageable, but after the water change the new lush green color they're growing out is beautiful.
