As long as you pH it to 6.0 or below thats fine, no need to let it sit out if you pH it.

i need a digi temp gauge to tell for sure, but it gets warmish.. not burning or anything they seem to be loving the light and warmth. but i doubt that will last long. for odor i havnt really planned on anything yet.. ive been thinking about it but the most i could afford or setup at the moment would be a fan with some kind of odor reducing filter and some insence or fabreeze LOL! isnt there a fan with an iodizer or something that will reduce smell? especially if i get carbon wash and soak the filter in it?

Woah there.. first off, 6 inches is too close period for a HPS light. or any HID lamp

You want to prevent stretching from day 1.

You don't really need that HPS right now, so just save it for later on, after you get a few nodes and you need light penetration.

Just use your AG hood for a few weeks, you can put that thing 4-5" away from your seedlings and thats fine. That will keep your plants from stretching, a ~3" buffer between your AG light and your plants is pretty safe, those bulbs are nice and cool, the HPS is fucking on fire and if your plants get too close they will burn.

i have my 3 ft stand up fan with ion filteration running on 2 constantly running for temp/smell?

You can just get a glass or an outdoor thermometer.

Just get a 6-8" clip on fan or something to get some air circulation going and promote strong thick stem growth.

This may work for you. Cheap and easy at the very least if you're not looking to go the whole carbon filter route.

i would use some cfls and ag hood for veggin unless u wanna get a metal halide for that hood...use the hps when u flower

well i still need to buy a digi temp/humidity monitor... paydays friday.
i believe the HPS is about 6 inches above the seedlings.. which givin there daily growth could get very close.. recommended distance for this time peroid? the temp gets warmish but not warm because i have a 3 foot ion fan on constantly.

any recomendations on odor controll? its in my closet, no holes for vent tubes...
sprays? insence? fans with filters? any specific type?
tips and help much appreciated.

with my future grows i plan to get dual 600w Mh/Hps and use both accordingly.. but i figured hps while vegg cant hurt more than it would hurt to just have the 3 AG lights.
not sure tho.
