Well yeah I figured someone would have some knowledge on how to utilize a ballast 24/7 while running 2 seperate lights for 12/12. I use only raw ballasts and create my own containment area as opposed to wasting hundreds of dollars on needlessly overpriced pre fabbed jawns. So really I actually bought a 3 way light switch to test the concept (it works fine) and just straight connected the out to the light from the ballast to the in on the switch and ran the two seperate lights to the end terminals on the switch. In position a, the ballast lights light a, position b it lights the second light. The problem here (and whyi abandoned the idea) is you need to be around every 12 hours to flip the switch. Granted i havent gone very far or called any electronics store (becus i cant conceive of a cover use to lie about (sidebar: imagine how much weed people could grow and how great life would be if we didnt have to live in the shadows and could act openly and honestly!). So what im looking for is either a timer that works with the straight wires as opposed to plugs or a simple way to mod a timer to instead of shut off/on instead switch the outputs. Any pointing to a source for such an item would indeed be appreciated.

DPDT relay with 120VAC coils. When the relay is energized, it puts the power to bulb A, when its de-energized, it powers bulb B.

A regular timer can run the relay.

Should be a snap for a guy who wires up his own ballasts.
