Default Advice asap
Ok i have just checked my seeds and 4 have cracked so far and what i wanna do with them is take one of the biodegradeble pots i have put sand in it and let the seeds sprout in that then take a 5gallon pot and put the pot in there and add real dirt. My question is would two different mediums stress my sprouts and would they grow good in the sand.
Any and all advice is welcome!

Personally, I wouldn't think sand is appropriate. Also, I'd stick that peat pot in a smaller that 5 gallon planter for a while before going 5 gallons, like 1-2 gallon.
Helps the root-ball mass and speeds above ground growth, IMO.

I agree with Mr.Fishy. Gradually increasing pot size keeps the roots centered, expanding evenly to maximize feedings. I know sand has been used but I wouldn't recommend it. Just buy a bag of soilless mix.

Buy a bag of quality organic soil for 7 dollars. Sand will require the use of hydroponic nutrients which would be more expensive then soil to begin with.

Why do you even WANT to use sand? Just curious. And as far as transplanting, you should start with a small cup, then go to a larger planter like 6 or 8 inch, then end up with a 5 gal, I wouldn't go straight to a 5 gal, it's unnecessary and a waste in my opinion.
