Does anyone know a process by which the 'percent THC' content of any particular bag or strain of bud can be determined within a decent tolerance?
Looking for something that doesn't involve guessing. Thanks!

From the looks of it I could piece one together, but use one? That's another story.

LOL that was a good one Fierybong!!! LOL
I think you have to send a sample off. Pretty sure they break it down and separate the individual chemicals and compounds and plant material/cellulose contained within the whole sample to make that determination, and afterwards not too sure about the smoke-ability after they send it back to you....lol You can always eyeball the THC glands or bring a scope with you when picking a strain (I am assuming you are a med patient?) and make a decision based on what you 'think' contains the most glands, I think this is about as close as your gonna get to what your asking (I think?) and it is probably not anywhere close to as accurate as you are probably wanting. I might be wrong and maybe someone knows of a home kit... |

I did see a test kit for thc, cbd, cbn and all that. Here's the link:

that is pretty cool, and using *regular* liquid chromatography...what we'd refer to as "quick and dirty"...but, it appears to work.
there are other variables to consider, like...are they using just leafy tissue, or were there stems in there? It would probably be best to use four or five samples from one plant and take an average, they could be too variable to use just one. |

I dont put huge stock in this, I wish in the videos he had gone into more detail about the buds he was using. Mexican pot has always been shwag in my area, and I would think the cheese, a rare super resinous strain would outperform it.
There has got to be a lab in Canada or somewhere that performs this kind of analysis anonymously and by mail. It shouldn't be that expensive. Edit: On second thought THC levels are overrated. Its all about the sample, the growing environment, the mood and the tools you use to get stoned. People tend to get off on grossly exaggerated THC levels when they should be concentrating on the reported user effects. Last edited by speedhabit; 07-21-2008 at 05:11 PM.. |
