How many growers trim off the fan leaves a week before chopping??
I have done this twice now and have not seen any bad results. The reason that I do it is to let more light to the lower parts of the plant. Anyone else???

that late in the game is fine.

it also reduces the need to flush. but couldnt it halt the growth? that would be really bad in the last week of flowering..

I did some reading on this topic and to summarize what I learned is dont trim leaves unless they are more than 50% damaged. It does stunt the plant each time it goes into repair mode.

In my opinion puff hit it right on the head,
unless a leaf is 50% damaged leave it alone
all parts of a plant serve a function.

I leave them until they are ready to come off too. Near the end they start to drop off on their own anyways when the plant is focusing on the buds. I'll pick off the ones with 50% or more discolouration to help out. But that is about it.

I let them fall on their own. If I can pull it off then I take it off, not it stays. I tie the rest our of the way.
