I'm clearing out and had some leftover babies which I decided to experiment with. With three I placed in air-tight mason jars (the same used for curing) and placed one in total darkness, one underneath a light, and one with a carbon dioxide tablet inside and underneath a light. Four days later they're still green and looking healthy, despite having no additional air. Care to elaborate?

clones/cuttings of other plants get air/moisture/light sealed and shipped through the mail, so i can't imaging this hardy weed being any different.

I get plants through the mail all the time. They survive it no problems. In fact, when I used to breed Siamese Fighting Fish I would ship them out via Priority Mail and they'd survive the 3-4 day trip fine.
