this is my first attempt at sog grow i have made some errors in strains/size when flowered etc. anyways they have flowered for about 2 weeks now should i trim the undergrowth to maximize large colas on top or would this be too stressfull i think this is reffered to as 'lollipopping'. because light penetration will be an issue otherwise. i am just concerned about stress since some plants appear to have hermed slighty maybe strain maybe stress i dont know. i dont want to make things worse any informed answers appreciated

i think most people do it up to the second week of flowering, but if its becoming a bit of a hermie you might not want to, i've never lollipopped before this is just from reading, but i'm really not sure how stressfull it is for the plant

Hasn't been worth it , in my experience , but it might work for you..

what lights were you growing with?

i would do it on wk3 cause thats when they start to bud and theyve done most of the stretching in the first 3 weeks

so you probably had quite good light penetration, i'm only using 250 watts and i didn't lollipop but I did cut off the lowest bud sites because they were doing nothing

thanks for the quick responses im working with 400whps plus about 400wcfl's clipped to the reflector. so around 800 total watts. cfls dont penetrate like a hps so i want to keep all plants of equal height i have different strains so if i have to lst then i will. any other thoughts or response appreciated

maybe i will selectively trim undergrowth and use some branches for seed production. any thoughts or advice appreciated
